12-ounce bottle into New Belgium globe glass.

A half-inch clean, white head lays atop this glowing golden orange ale. Bubble rise quickly and steadily rom the depths of the translucent, cloudy liquid.

The smell is hoppy and floral. Tropical sweetness wafts from the surface of buttery-toast malted grains.

The sugary tartness of blood orange permeates the slightly bitter underlying herbal flavors. Pale malts have caramelized just a tiny bit; this rich syrupy fast helps balance the dominant citric pucker that loiters around the tongue long after swallowing. Sharp carbonation adds substantial refreshment to a foamy, medium body. Thin spotty lacing is left behind as the meniscus inches down the side of the glassware, gulp by gulp.

The look of Super Fuzz was by far the most impressive part. It glowed effervescently like an animated-movie treasure chest upon opening it for the first time. One cannot see through this beer; instead, the cloudy golden-medal light amber hues catch the light as it passes through this brew and reflect it in every direction. Beautiful.

As for the drinking experience, this one is refreshing and would go well with a porch- or dock sit.

Pours hazy and on golden hues with a soft orange blush. Thin head of white foam that fell quickly and left some good sheeting lace. Nose is orange. The tangy sweet blood orange. A bit of the pith and a touch of sugar for malt. Taste is lovely citrus with that blood orange prominent and then a touch fo the tart grapefruit to hold it up. A little bit of sweet herbal and a and a bit of cracker from the malt carry this one to the finish like a spiked orange -ade.

I just loved this and think it's one the most pleasant pales I have tried. Sweet and tart combine seamlessly for a a palate that is quenched and satisfied. Light fruity and juicy mouthfeel. Silken malt with ample carbonation. Crisp and bold palate with a brisk finish and lingering tartness and slight bitterness.

APPEARANCE: This is a very fizzy beer. Medium sized bubbles can only be described as darting towards the surface. The head the eventually hit is only about a quarter of an inch thick when it is first poured and it quickly fades into a wispy cap. The liquid underneath is a murky, burnt orange.

SMELL: Orange hits the nose first while a piney, grassy and somewhat chalky (I know that sounds weird) aroma rounds it out.

TASTE: A lot of citrus flavors make themselves apparent right off the bat. Grapefruit showed up for this party, but orange is definitely the host. Again, there is a bit of chalkiness to the flavor here. It isn’t a bad thing at all, in fact, it seems to balance out some of the potentially sweeter fruit flavors.

MOUTHFEEL: This is a really big beer for only being 5.4%. It drinks more like an 8%er. Semi-sweet up front while the finish dries out with a slight hop bitterness and that chalkiness discussed above. There is a light tickle, but the carbonation is subtle.

OVERALL: With the weather getting better every week, I am going to need snag a six-pack of this before it dries up for the season. A nice, relaxing porch session is what this beer is all about.
