Notes/Commercial Description:
Blonde coloured ale with the wonderful essence of fresh blueberries. Sweet flavours of peppery blueberries, malts and spicy hops make this one a winner all the way. A one-of-a-kind refresher.

Pint on tap at the brewery's restaurant in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada.

Appearance: Pours a clear gold with a one-inch white head. Looks like a lager. Leaves some attractive lacing.

Aroma: This has a really faint nose. There's nothing offensive in it, but there's also kind of nothing in it. Some very, very faint yeast, maybe.

Taste: This beer has a nice balance of flavors. It almost kind of tastes like if half-and-half was made in beer form. That probably sounds terrible, but it's actually quite nice. It has a pretty good heft to it and sort of a creamy milkiness. Most "cream" ales use the adjective to describe the beer's heft or mouthfeel, but this one actually seems to apply it to the taste. No one flavor dominates, though there are some faint spices on the finish. I don't get any hops. No alcohol either.

Mouthfeel: This is a fun beer to drink. Nice cream-like smoothness, and easy on the palate. It's much denser than it looks, but it's also refreshing and easy.

Overall: This is an enjoyable, fairly simple beer that is certainly worth picking up in a mixed six or grabbing on draft if you can find it. It's sessionable and reasonably flavorful and accessible, but also has a pretty unique profile among cream ales - a style I enjoy, so maybe I'm partial.

341ml bottle poured into pint glass 18/10/11

A clear golden yellow with lots of tiny bubbles feeding a finger of bone white foam that hangs around for a bit leaving a couple random patches of lace

S wet soggy cornflakes and a little purple candy, smells sour though not that inviting

T ya just more sour soggy cereal with a little sweetness too it, not that great just tastes a little off

M has some body to it and carbonation works well but it leaves a foul lingering taste in your mouth

O somethings just not right here, there's a flaw or it's just poorly made

I've had great stuff from Pump House but this just isn't it, I might give it another shot just to make sure I didn't get a bad bottle

341ml bottle poured into a 16oz pint glass.

A - Fizzy white head. Urine yellow. No retention, no lacing.

S - Cereal grain sweetness, with evident honey undertones. Grassy and somewhat skunky.

T - Grainy sweetness, cereal, corn. Not very clean or crisp given the thin flavor. Not very good.

M - Fizzy carbonation. Thin body.

D - Unimpressive, but I wasn't expecting much. These cream ales just seem to be lagers with some weird funk added in.

341mL, no date.

Pours a clear, very light yellow-gold with a decent head actually. Impressed with the retention. The lacing is minimal.

The aroma is grainy and hay-like, not much else.

The flavor is sweet and grainy, with almost no bitterness. Fairly clean, but I'm not digging the flavor at all. Kind of a weird grapey-fruity thing going on too. The mouthfeel has very large bubbles and seems forced and somewhat harsh.

I guess you could drink this, but I wouldn't repeat the experience. Next.

Appearance: moderate carbonation, 1 inch head, clear, gold in color

Smell: toasted malt, sugar, and honey—smells like a non-alcohol beer

Taste: sweet malty, bready, grass with a bit of hops at the end

Mouthfeel: very sweet with a touch of bitterness at the end, medium body, medium carbonation, very smooth

Overall: Arguably the smoothest beer I have had in some time. This almost tastes like the base beer for 21st Amendment’s Hell or High Watermelon—what I would expect to get without the fruit flavor. A great, sessionable, malty beer. A nice take on the style.

A - a hazy pale golden, short head dissipated fairly quickly
S - wheaty and yeasty, mild tropical fruit aroma, light leafiness
T - a grainy musty start, sour citrus, bready with a strange mineral aftertaste
M - light with lower carbonation, even a little flat, with a somewhat bready finish
O - a pretty average brew all in all, and not quite what I was expecting from a cream ale, glad I only bought a single

A - Pours a hazy pale straw colour, thin layer of head with little retention and no real lacing.

S - Scent is reminiscent of a hefe with caramel notes. Some grassy wheat and tart citrus notes with sweeter caramel undertones.

T - Unique flavours, and I'm a bit confused by the style. Almost a cross between a hefe and a cream ale with wheat and cloves coming off the top followed by some caramel and toffee notes on the finish.

M - Medium bodied ale, but goes down a pit prickly. Finish is a tad dry as well.

O - Overall, not at all what I was expecting from a cream ale. Unique indeed and worth a try, but Pumphouse has some better offerings IMO.

A- Poured a cloudy orange-yellow. The white head dropped fast but left great lacing lines. A lot of carbonation bubbles rising to the top, fast.

S- Sugary sweet smell is very strong. Apple rind, citrus peel and a slight belgian yeast finish.

T- Wow, a little disappointed. Very bland. No hops or malts. Very minor fruit flavors.

M- All that carbonation, and it isn't noticeable.

D- -34c with wind today, this would be better suited for the summer. Still, smooth and creamy though.
