tap
Pours a clear reddish brown with a fine, pillowy eggshell head which retains well.
Smells of caramel and biscuit malts along with buttered bread.
Caramel and biscuit malt flavor with a notable floral hoppiness.
Medium to full body with a stinging carbonation on the roof of the mouth.
A pretty solid Scotch ale with some nice flavor and body, nothing spectacular but very enjoyable to me and I would have it again.

Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a nice clear copper color with a ½ finger of foamy white head and lots of little carbonation bubbles are seen streaming up through the brew. The head of the beer has a good level of persistence, slowly fading over time to leave a decent level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is big of a roasted malty smell as well as sweet caramel and toffee smells. Mixed with these smells are notes of graininess, toast, as well as some smells of herbal nature.
Taste –The taste begins with a rather sweet caramel and toffee flavor, along with a slightly roasted malt taste. As the flavor advances, the sweetness persists all while the roasted malt flavors lose ground to a more bready like taste. Some sour-fruity flavors, as well as some hop flavors, start developing in the taste more toward the middle of the flavor profile. The sour taste is of a kind of vinegar like taste, while the hops are a mix of grass, hay, and earth. The sourness continues to increase more toward the end of the taste, leaving a surprisingly sour and moderately malty and sweet flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel –The body of the beer is on the average side with a carbonation level that is on the average side as well. Both were decent for complimenting the malty and sweet tastes with the sour flavors of the brew. Overall, fairly appropriate.
Overall – A bit too sour for a scotch style ale for my tastes. Nothing I would likely go to again.

12 oz bottle at fridge temp poured into a snifter.
Pours out a nice clear deep brown color with hints of deep red. Nice looking off white head, big bubbles. Average head retention with some decent lacing left on the glass.
A bit bland and lacking of aroma. As it warms the aroma becomes more apparent and is all about the malt as you'd expect from a Scottish ale. Deep bready caramel, vinious, stone fruits. A bit strong and boozey considering the ABV.
My first impression on the taste is that this has quite a boozey alcohol burn exspecially for only being 7.5% ABV. Again, quite malty, but not all about the malt as there is some hops in there trying to balance. Sweet caramel malts, bready, dark breads, a bit of stone fruit. Quite nice once you get over the booze. Finishes with a bit of a leafy hop as well as some hop bitterness.
Slightly heavier side of medium bodied.
Kind of on par with the rest of flying bison's offerings. I don't think I'd buy this again.
