A: Filled up a growler in person that the brewery. One Finger head, lasted several minutes, light lacing, light honey color when poured.

S: Strong hop aroma, wife claimed it was skunky in a good way if that is possible.

T/M: Served cold had light body. Strong hop after bite, surprised its not a light beer. Lots of carbinaton.

D: Glad it comes in growler size, no taste of alcohol even enjoyed it was it got warmer. Well balanced, going to have to figure out how to hold a growler on the lawn mower.

Poured from a 12oz bottle to a pilsner glass

Pours a light copper, with a 1/4 inch fluffy white head, lots of visible champagne like carbonation. A slight funk to the front of the nose, followed by a nice toasted malt note, a slight lemon with a faint bittering hop on the finish. Toasted malt, slight carbonation middle of the mouth, metallic lemon flavor mid sip, clean soapy finish. Light on the mouthfeel, fizzy, funky, quenching. Overall; I dunno, it's a lager! Boring, light, it's not bad, it's not good, it does however pair amazingly well with chicken wings, cheers!

12oz bottle at fridge temp. no bottled on date.

a copper golden color with just a slight haze. a small white head that settles to some thin patchy foam that stays awhile. decent webby lace. lots of carbonation bubbles rushing to the top.

mineraly lager yeast meets toasted grain with very light hints of caramel and honey.

light, easy flavors. mineral like lager yeast, toasted grains with hints of butter and caramel. finishes clean with just a light hit of citrus. just barely enough bitterness to balance out the sweetness.

light body, slightly watery. lots of carbonation.

for what it is, its not terrible. its done pretty well for the style actually. an easy drinking session beer that any beer drinker could get behind, but it leaves the beer geek wanting more... much more.

t: typical lager. corn and other grains. a little fruity sweetness. a little lemon and herb on the finish.

o: very typical of a lager. easy drinking and unoffensive. not gonna blow your mind or make you think about whats in it. very good on a humid day.

Poured from bottle into pint glass

Appearance – Pours a deep golden color with a medium white head of large carbonation bubbles. The head faded over time to give very little lacing.

Smell – Sweet caramel is the most potent and is mixed with a bit of corn aroma.

Taste – The taste matched the smell quite well. There is a caramel taste mixed with a corn and bready malt backbone. The flavor is quite one-dimensional and remains relatively consistent throughout the taste.

Mouthfeel – Very standard lager mouthfeel. A bit below average in terms of body with a slightly higher then normal carbonation level.

Overall –A very standard lager.

A tad bit hazy, with a subtler smell than expected. A little fruitier than expected (blueberry?), but only seemed to be pronounced for the first one or two sips. After the initial couple sips, it felt like a pretty typical German Lager. Nothing to write home about, but certainly not going to offend anyone.

I purchased a 6 pack from Consumer Beverage here in Buffalo, NY...almost as fresh as getting it from the brewery.

The appearance throws me off a bit: a hazy, golden color with a fizzy white head. Hazy? Isn't a lager supposed to be crystal clear because of the longer fermentation?

The smell is good, your typical lager: fruity notes from the yeast, sweet malt, sulfur notes which is appropriate to style.

The mouthfeel is a strenth in this beer, solid medium, creamy smoothness. The head disipated quickly so I was concerned it was undercarbonated but that is not the case, its balanced nicely.

The flavor starts with fruitiness from the lager and malt and finishes with a little dryness from the alcohol and just enough german hops to balance things out.

This beer is to style, it is a tasty drinkable german lager. It is highly sessionable and appropriate in any setting.

Appearance: Pours a slightly hazy golden color; the rather modest head; a few dots of lacing hang around

Smell: Cereal grains with a bit of malty sweetness

Taste: Biscuity sweetness, up front, with a developing grainy character; the two flavor elements linger, after the swallow, though the finish has a lemony herbacious character

Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with moderate carbonation

Drinkability: An average beer, all around

Thanks, silverx, for the opportunity

A - Pours a clear golden yellow color with alot of carbonation and a thin white layer across the top and several small "floaties".

S - Lemon grass, floral hops, and somewhat earthy.

T - Has a mild lemon zing, mild malt character, and a slight earthy hop bite to it.

M - Light body, thin, watery, lots of carbonated pricklies on the tongue, clean finish.

D - I can handle one or two of these as a fast quaffer, no more before wanting something else instead.

For some reason, I enjoyed this one more drinking straight from the bottle as opposed to a pint glass.

Clear light gold with a somewhat weak head. Some grassy hops and fruity notes in the nose. Maybe some caramel as well. Flavour has some malt in it, some light fruit and a mild generic hoppiness - maybe some lemon and herbal flavours. Not bad, but nothing really stands out about this one.

Appearance: Pours a clearish, yellow body with a wispy, white head.

Smell: Light pale maltiness with a scent of tropical fruits and fresh-cut flowers.

Taste: Light pale malts with a light honeyish sweetness. Tastes of flowers and fruits. A sturdy hop bitterness rides out until the crisp finish.

Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Medium carbonation.

Drinkability: Not altogether terrible, but not so great either. Still though, I wouldn't recommend it.

Poored a deep straw gold. Very little head that quickly vanished all but to the sides of the glass. Disappointing in flavor not much better than you could poor out of any giants can. Not that the flavors very tempting just tastes most likely what the giants did before profits were all that mattered. Not something I'd seek out but if its this or bud light... you know where it'll go

From a 12 ounce bottle - Pours a clear pale yellow with below average carbonation, and almost no lacing. The aroma is dominated adjuncts and some floral hops. First sip is surprisingly tasteless with not a lot of flavor. Some hoppy bitterness is present but on a whole this is not much going on here. A big disappointment.

The beer pours a pale gold color with a thick frothy white head that quickly fades to lacing. The aroma is poor. It has a fruity, lager yeast scent along with a pilsner malt and low hop aroma. It has a funny aroma, almost like a sat beer. The taste is poor as well. It has a very light pale and pilsner malt flavor that goes down hard with little hops and an off putting lager yeast taste. The mouthfeel is decent. It is a low bodied beer with adequate carbonation. This really isn't that good of a beer. The malt bill seems alright, but the aroma and finish is terrible.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz. bottle into a pint glass.

Appearance: It had an interesting hazy appearance with lively visible carbonation and a deep or old gold color. The head builds up big, thick and foamy. It has a light creamy tan color with some speckles of brown yeast sediment from the bottle.

Smell: The aroma has hints of floral and earthy hops and yeast.

Taste/Mouth feel: The flavor has pleasant light bready malt presence with an earthy yeast character. Also there is a slightly astringent hint of green apple and mild hops that adds a nice balance of bitterness. The hop flavor fades off nicely into the semi-dry finish. Its carbonation is good and lively with a slick easy drinking texture and light to medium body.

Notes: This is a good solid brew.

The beer pours a nice straw-blonde color, the head does not linger very long.

The aroma of this beer is very grainy, it feels as if I've just walked into a brewery during mash-in.

The taste is very clean and crisp without being thin. Flying bison has a signature big malt taste, and while this beer is not very malty... the malts that are present are very vibrant across the palate. Nice grainy honey-like malt with a tinge of hops to balance,

A great beer... I'll be enjoying this during the hot summer months, not too filling, but not too light... strangely, it doesn't taste like a lager at all... more like a delicious light ale.

very deep brown appearence and a feathery head. A very good smell for a lager...it smells like a hearty microbrew but it is actually very light. Very hoppy at first witha rich maly aftertaste. A pretty good beer overall. This was a gift and I would more than likely buy it if I ever saw it in a local store.

Beer was poured from a 12 ounce bottle at 40º with a bottled on date of 070207. The beer poured with a nice head which subsided and left some lacing effect. There were tiny bubbles to start but quickly subsided. Coloring was pale gold and the beer appeared hazy at first but seemed to clear.

Roasted malt aroma was very evident with first smell. Did not detect much else but the aroma was very acceptable although one dimensional.

The beer had a very clean and refreshing taste with malt aftertaste. That is probably an indication of the all malt brewing. A second sip revealed a slight hop presence.

I felt the malt lingered on the palate which gave this lager above average mouthfeel.

This is a very drinkable lager and definitely a cut above the mass produced efforts. Thanks to my sister for picking this one up for me on her trip out east.

Clear golden color with a thick and fizzy white head that dissipates steadily. Spotty lacing around the top of the glass. The aroma is faintly hoppy with a hint of malt. Light-bodied and crisp with a weak floral hops flavor supported by a surprisingly sweet undertone. Malty flavor stays there through the finish, making this one lean toward the sweet side throughout. The finish is rather short as well. Below average.

12 oz bottle poured into a snifter - Bottling date of 10.30.06

Appearance: Pours a slightly hazy golden yellowish orange with an impressive 3 inch white head that stays around for quite awhile. The head is capable of sustaining huge craters on its surface and way into the beer. This is what every beer's head should be (well, most beers)

Smell: Sweet, with some hop oil. Sort of a Sprite aroma. Still smells fresh with a nice floral bouquet, are we sure this is a lager?

Taste: Kind of bland. Malty up front with a good balance between the finishing hop bitterness. Not much to speak of here. But I do recognize a nice balance.

Mouthfeel: Slick and smoothe, not oily. Very nice carbonation and soda-esque drying but satisfying slickness.

Drinkability: I think the average review on here puts this beer at under 3 but it is more like a 4. Seriously. I think it does great in all categories except for taste. I could easily drink a 6 pack of these in the summer. It is going down very smoothe.

My cousin, Chris, got this for me from New York; it was a random beer that he chose off the shelf
when he was unable to find the Mexican Negra Modelo. Thanks, Chris. :) Yes Buffalo Lager is from
a New York Brewery, presumably in Buffalo. I preferred American lagers to local lagers (DUH) and
to some German lagers but I was not totally confident in this one. However this Buffalo presented
me a present surprise. :) It pours out like normal lager with a small head which quickly
dissipates and looked a slightly darker shade of gold (not as bright as a pilsner); a fair
amount of carbonation is visible. It smells like a lager though the smell is not veyr strong from
the glass; it was stronger from the bottle's opening. When I tasted this lager, I was immediately
reminded of the familiar tastes from Brewerkz! Yes.. Malty and yeasty and it reminds me of the
steam beer from Brewerkz as this lager's yeast is probably fermented at a temperature closer to
ale temperatures. I think these traits existed in Samuel Adam's Boston Lager as well; perhaps
this is the way the Americans do it? (I regret not taking beer avidly when I was working in the
states) The after taste was also nicely malty and yeasty. What was interesting was the rather
dry finish which I had not experienced for a while; I quite like the dry finish and perhaps it
was this that makes this beer very smooth, thirst quenching and drinkable. Thanks, Chris.

botted on 103006, stamped on the label
oh boy, this is old...

Pours a slightly hazed pale orange with golden highlights. The carbonation on this one is not like the other brews from the mixed case. The others poured mostly head, whereas this one pours with just a small film of head. A few random dots of lace.

Nose: grains, wheat?

Somewhat water crisp mouthfeel. Flavors are quick. Some graininess, a light bitterness. Some citrus flavor along with the bitterness, mostly lemon.

This one is probably super quaffable fresh on a hot summer day. Personally, i'd pass and look for something with more flavor.

Deep golden color with a slightly off-white head that quickly fades to a thin layer. Aroma is a slight hint of malt; very clean, very boring. Flavor is weird. Odd bitterness with funky metallic notes. Made me check for a date on the bottle - 11-20-06. There's some malt in there as well, maybe some hoppiness. Maybe this is just the misuse of some really catty hops? Mouthfeel is thin, drinkability is very poor. I may forever refer to this beer as "Buffalo Piss". It's headed to the water treatment facility in a hurry. If you see this one, keep moving along. There are at least 10,000 other beers that are better out there....

Just noticed, this was my 600th beer review. One of my worst beers.
