A - Hazy golden w/a bit of copperish-like hue and a rich, fluffy, cratered cap that's simply beautiful. No lace.

S - Very much like a Weisen with wheat, clove, lemon and malt.

T - Oktoberfest but with a Weizen accent. Nice sort of nutty malt but with a touch of cinnamon and fruit that finishes dry. Delicious!

M - Rich w/nice supporting carbonation that's super silky.

D - Food friendly given the low ABV and splendidly balanced carbonation. Hugely drinkable!

From the 11.2 oz bottle. Sampled on January 18, 2014.

It pours a cloudy and foggy pale yellow with a huge carbonated white head that fizzles down rather quickly. It looks like there is some yeast still floating around this one.

The aroma is of toasted biscuit malts, wheat, and lemongrass.

The body is light and refreshing making it easy to quaff.

The taste is echoes the aroma with a lot of toasted biscuit, wheat, and a clean lemon finish.

Pours translucent golden yellow with a faint white head that settles to a thin film on top before disappearing completely. No lace to speak of.

Smell is mostly malt with faint citrus notes and a hint of clove.

Taste is of sweet malt with some notes of Autumn spices.

Mouthfeel is lighter bodied with high carbonation. A stream of tiny bubbles rises continuously throughout the drink down.

A decent Oktoberfest. This is lighter in body and less spice-forward than most of it's American counterparts.

A: The beer is hazy yellow in color and has a high amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high white head that gradually died down, consistently leaving a thin head covering the surface and lots of lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Faint to light aromas of caramel and toasted malts are present in the nose along with notes of bananas, the latter of which becomes stronger as the beer warms up.
T: The taste shares some similarities with the smell, but is more balanced with stronger flavors of bananas from the yeast that stand up to the caramel and toasted malts.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I found this beer to be unique because it is a maltier version of a hefeweizen and makes for a good wheat beer to drink when it is a little chillier outside in the spring or fall.

On-tap 10/31/2013 at Track 84 in Warwick, RI, served in a stange glass.

A: The beer is a dark gold color, with a large off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains light caramelized malts, some hops and some fruit.

T: The taste starts out sweet with flavors of caramel and some fruit. Then a hearty malt character breadiness comes in. The hops presence is mild but complementary and brings a good balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet ad slightly bready.

M: Crisp and smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is clean.

O: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, decent kick, good representation of style, this is a solid beer but there are better choices within the style.

12 oz bottle, poured into a pint glass

Appearance: Pours a slightly hazy, golden color with two fingers of white head that quickly dissolved into a thin halo of foam that gripped the sides of the glass, as well formed wispy clouds that partially covered the top of the beer.

Aroma: Malt, yeast, some hops and some spice of clove, banana and a little bit of bubblegum.

Taste: Nice balance between hops and malt, with some nice wheat beer backbone, which surprises me as I don’t usually like wheat beers. Some tasty notes of black pepper, citrus, clover and banana.

Mouthfeel: Medium, with some really good carbonation to tickle the taste buds. With and ABV of 5.7%, there is no presence of alcohol on the palate.

Overall: This is much better than I thought it would be. I don’t really like wheat beers, but this Erdinger Oktoberfest Weizen is very tasty. I’d certainly get it again.

a wheat Oktoberfest? well, ive certainly never had one, stoked! effervescence on the pour is intense, very bubble, like hydrogen peroxide almost. rising and active white soda head against a hazy pale straw body. the nose on this isn't that different than other german hefe types, but has maybe a touch more density to the grain bill, and is just slightly less fruity as the banana notes go. the flavor is super light, far lighter than any other octoberfest styles ive had this year. I will say that its strange to have an ale, not a lager, filling this role. the long finish, yeasty and spiced, is seemingly more appropriate for fall, and I am surprised more brewers haven't gone in this direction. the wheat is a strange juxtaposition to the fall season though, light, pale, gentle, floral even, summer, out of place. great carbonation and lighter than almost any other beer under this label. a nice one from erdinger, not their best, but a clever new twist (for me at least) on a classic style.

I will keep this review short and sweet... there isn't much I have to say about this beer that is necessary to everyone getting the picture.

A- on the pour, the color of the beer is almost identical to that of Oberon... If this beer was a fine fragrance like YSL or Viktor & Rolf, Oberon would be the imitation fragrance purchased at Walmart (mind you that Im comparing the likeness of appearance and not smells) So, a richer version of Oberon is what this appears to be. 2 finger head upon a good pour, retention is moderately impressive.

S- Very sweet... almost reminds me of an artificially flavored grape cough syrup. (In a good way) but not the way I want my Oktoberfest to smell. There is a bit of oatmeal in there as well.

T- also sweet. Sweetly disappointing for the label on the beer. The flavor reminds me much of the Brooklyn Oktoberfest beer for those of you who've had it. Bread, Concorde Grapes, and a tiny hint of pre-prohibition hoppiness.

M- just a bit heavy. slightly chewy, with good enough carbonation to pleasantly repel the beer from unattractively staying on the palate long enough to overstay its welcome.

O- overall this is a beer to be had. There are some characteristics here to be understood as something other than an Oktoberfest, but many may disagree and believe its sweet malty nature to be the essence of this style of beer. Ignorance is bliss.
