Pours a nice dark deep brown with a noticeable haze. Head is about 2 inches and fades very fast. I finally appreciate head for what it is, so fading fast is not a good thing for me anymore. The foam is brownish white.
I smell a bit of well, beer. A bit of spice, maybe a bit of ....clove? Lots of wheat.
Taste is a bit, well a bit bland actually. Thick, but not a lot of taste. I taste the spice and wheat..but thats about it and its kind of not there. Although the longer it sits in the mouth, the more i get some bannanna flavor(WOW!) for the first time for me.
Mouthfeel is decent, nothing to jump up and shout about. A bit thin for a dark but there is definetly a film there, but it falls down the throat and is gone.
Drinkability...well its definetly drinkable. No bitter aftershock, no bad taste. For a dark beer its actually surprisingly crisp, but i guess thats par for a Hefewiesen too so thats a plus in its cap.
overall, if i could get a six at cheaper price than i pay per 16.9 oz bottle id buy it more. Right now, its a buy when i dont have the cash for a better dark hefe/dunkel.

Poured from pint bottle into a Guinness glass. Best by 08-2014
A- Pours a deep, dark brown that is very murky with light coming in on the edges when the glass is tilted. High slightly brownish-white head.
S- Slight dark fruit, fruit cakey thing going on, light spice of clove and allspice.
T- Taste is more like a normal Hefe with light spice, banana, and orange zest. Some added dark fruit in there as well.
M- Light and refreshing.
O- I nice lighter version of a dunkel, I enjoyed the added raisin notes and enjoyed this much more than Erdinger's regular hefe. A very affordable beer as well, a quality pint of beer for 2 bucks is always welcomed.
