On tap at the brewery tasting room.
A: Pours a nice hazy orange color with a fluffy white head. Nice retention.
S: Very nice aroma but more subtle than many other examples that I have tried. Banana note are there but definitely are not strong.
T: A mix of wheat with slight banana notes but certainly something that you have to look for in this beer. Not spicy at all with a very smooth profile. Carbonation is high which is typical for the style.
M: Mouthfeel is creamy and mild.
O: At the brewery this hefeweizen was definitely the best sample of Erdingerweiss I have had. I still wouldn't rate this as one of my favorites and preferred their Urweisse much better.

Picked this up as part of a group to get to a 10% discount, I like Hefe style so figured this was worth trying at that price. Good looking beer that is only okay to the nose. Very good taste, good Hefe. Overall a decent Hefe but not what I would consider special, but certainly enjoyable.

(best by end 06-2014 - poured into an Innis & Gunn fluted goblet)
A: appropriately cloudy after initially pouring out alarmingly bright... light, nectarine skin, yellow-amber... pretty, silky sheen to the moderately-compact foam - seems like it wanted to hold, at first, but it soon falls flat then almost vanishes entirely
S: smells like wheat malt, maybe a smidge of clove ester... mild fog of citrus peel, no notable banana... almost a pilsner-like grain and mild hop note... not terribly bready or yeasty
T: more doughy flavors straight off the bat, bit of a staling roll crust finish... bit of that yeasty dough with a hint of it turning over tangy in the aftertaste... big wheat malt flavor in the aftertaste as well - I'll chew on some kernels from the half-sack I keep for homebrew in my kitchen, and the lingering taste in this beer is that glutenous, mildly chalky note I get when I'm chewing and chewing and the junk won't break down - it's like gum - speaking of which, there's a faint background hint of that as well
M: on the thinner side, but not exactly light-bodied... upper part of the flow has a delicate sudsy wash, bigger bubbles it seems... bit compact, gummy almost, with absence of a firm, spritzy carbonation
O: this may very well be on its last legs... was fridge-kept for months prior... overall, not bad - don't think i would go and buy and couple cases and let them sit around for months... likely a bit livelier in a fresher state, perhaps a brighter display of the esters
