Poured into a Mahr's Weisse glass.
A-Very pale and clear golden beer (too pale?), streaming ropes of aggressive carbonation bubbles. 3" white puffy head slowly sinks leaving minor lacing. Wish the head stuck around a little longer. Yeast pour adds hardly any cloudiness.
S-Hmmmm. VERY faint hefe character: actually this smells like a lager.
T-Drinks like a lager, too. Even with the yeast pour, hefe characteristics are so minor, some lemony vagueness being the most prevalent. Clove and bannana are there, but way, way in the background. Yeasy pour hardly adds any additional flavor. Slightly sour aftertaste, but it's still " o.k."
M-Probably the best thing about this beer. Very brisk carbonation for a hefe. Me likey.
D-Very drinkable in a thoughtless kinda way, I forgot I was drinking a hefe at one point, then snapped back to reality not really craving another beer.
CRUX: GREAT CARBONATION IN THIS HEFE, Otherwise, kinda dissappointing, as it sorta tastes like a hefe mixed with a Beck's. Too lager- like for me; I probably won't get this again unless it's on-tap. Glad to try it though, maybe the next 5 bottles hold the missing hefe characteristics I was looking for. Note to self: bring your computer with you next time you go to the beer store and see something like this that you want to buy so you can access the awsome beeradvocate.com and, uh, you know...
