Fans of down-to-earth beers will love smooth ERDINGER Urweisse.
With its distinctive top-fermenting beer profile and strong yeasty flavor, Urweisse is a truly traditional Bavarian wheat beer specialty.
The soft initial taste is accompanied by malted wheat and caramel flavors mixed with hints of clove, banana and yeast. This is followed by a lingering finish of sun-ripened aroma hops from the Hallertau region. Urweisse contains slightly more carbon dioxide than other ERDINGER Weissbier – making it a lively taste sensation.
The recipe dates back to the brewery's founding days in 1886. The bottle and nostalgic label also awake memories of days gone by. This smooth wheat beer specialty tastes best when served in its own specially developed, hand-blown glass.

Bottle at Las Buenas Pulgas served in a weizen glass. Hazy dark yellow color, big head with short retention, creamy lacing. Aroma of cloves, bananas, citrics, pear, herbs. Medium to full body, earthy texture, average carbonation. Taste follows the aroma. Good.

Pours classic, opaque amber gold, nice fluffy head. Not a whole lot on the nose, classic Hefe yeast and malts. Taste is mild banana bread sans coriander or any notable spice cutting through. Feel is full and chewy, better than the flagship offering from Erdinger. Overall decent, just doesn't quite stand up to Ayinger Urweisse or other higher end hefes.

500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 5.2%. When the beer is poured the glass fills completely with a huge white foam, which slowly lets a deep golden hazy beer emerge. Typical hefeweizen aroma with strong notes of cloves, also ripe bananas and bubblegum. The mouthfeel is slightly fuller than the ordinary Erdinger Hefe-Weissbier. The flavour has again sweetish notes of ripe bananas, also moderate notes of cloves. The finish is rather bland with minimal hops.

500 ml bottle served cold into a tulip. Part of the Erdinger mixed pack this year,
Apperaance - Hazy, deep golden brew with a mountain of frothy white head. The head has great staying power.
Smell - Loads of banana, some bubblegum and slight glove sensations wrapped around a wheaty base.
Taste - Light and wheaty, fairly sweet, bubblegum, then banana and some clove to balance things out in that order and in proportion. Semi-bitter aftertaste, keeps this from become overly sweet.
Mouthfeel - Medium-light bodied, modest carbonation easy to drink and refreshing.
Overall - Probably a fair bit better than the standard hefe, just lighter and crisper makes the difference. Nice addition to this mixed 5 pack (plus glass).

De un color anarajando, con un cordón de espuma de buena retención. Cuerpo medio y carbonatación ligera. Aroma afrutado y a especias. Sabor especiado con notas de trigo. Agradable.
