500ml bottle as a gift from Fenwick, Newcastle:
Light and golden colour that almost looked like urine, or at best diluted, watered down beer. There was a thin lacing just about covering the surface.

Light floral and citrus hops with a malty base and some hints of earth bitterness. There was some biscuit and a hint of sweetness with some vanilla or butterscotch coming through and the beer seems quite fresh and clean on the nose.

Earthy malts that match the aroma with a biscuit taste and some citrus and earthy hops as well. There is again some sweetness with vanilla featuring and the beer tastes quite refreshing.

Slightly bitter with a medium body and similar carbonation. There is a clean and crisp feel to the beer with a dry, hoppy and lingering bitter finish.

Not too bad a beer, with the exception of its appearance anyway. The taste was a fairly standard one for a golden ale with a mix of earthy bitterness and malts along with some subdued hops but the balance in the beer was good and it proved very easy to drink; its just a shame it looked so bad to begin with.
