First off, the selection is incredible. Beers from all over the world, most of which I have never heard of, and a staff that is knowledgeable and helpful. The beers, because they are so rare, are expensive ranging from $6 bottles to $30. (It's funny, because you can go a couple of blocks over and get many of the same beers at its grocery store, and pay $2 for the same bottle.) Only about six or so beers on tap. Very hippieish feel to the place. While the atmosphere is definitely chill, it is far to cramped in there, but the outside is nice.

It's obviously a beer lovers paradise, but make sure you got some cash to blow. Great place to go in the afternoon, but it gets really packed in during the weekend nights.

How on Earth do I not have a review of Spuyten Duyvil down?

Love this place. Have been here so many times and tried so many different beers that I probably would have never been able to. 1984 Boon Mariage Parfait, Cantillon Saint Lamvinus on a hand pump, and on and on and on. The decor is awesome, the selection is thorough (even with the minimal taps) and it's worth a visit if you've never been.

In the hipster-elitist tradition, there's no sign for this place and every beer is super expensive, much like the local's rent. However, if you can afford it, there's plenty of hard-to-find brews. Though hard-to-find COULD be desirable, the quality of these rare brews leaves something to be desired. Many of the beers have sub-90 reviews on Beer Advocate. I don't take my chances on beers over $10. I like the garden in the back. It's a relaxing place to drink a decent craft beer. Doesn't compare to say, Bohemian Beer Garden in Astoria, but it's still a nice change of scenery compared with most bars.
