Served cool from 500ml bottle into Veltins pilsner mug.

L) Clear, amber colour, lots of bubbles, whispy bubbly head.

S) Nothing huge, faint bready pilsner malt.

T) Fairly weak saars hops flavour on a bit of a watery pilsner malt background. Ends with a delicate hop bitterness.

F) Good engaging pilsner mouth feel, nicely fizzy and just a touch of bitterness but with no dragging aftertaste.

O) Very drinkable lager, but not in the top tier of Czech pilsners.

Barely copper colour with little carbonation, filtered with 2 fingers of yellowish white head.

Fresh hay and malt, smells like my gerbils' straw he slept in, or even more so the fodder our chickens lived in, seriously and this is not a criticism, just my honesty. Slight honey, honey biscuit.

Honey biscuit, fresh cut hay, slight fodder, malt, light sweetness.

Light body with a slightly syrupy consistency, subtle foamy carbonation.

A fair one for the style, but hey they should have this one down as its their local brew. Drank in Chiang Mai June 19th, 2015.

500 ml bottle from BevMo. Pours a clear golden yellow with an orange hue. A fair amount of foam. A typical pilsner aroma of hops, faint molasses and yeast. Taste of bread and grass with a light spicy bite. A nice balance of bitter/sweetness. Good amount of flavor. Crisp finish.Tasty and drinkable.

Golden color with a thick one finger head with medium retention.
Aroma of caramel malt that is gradually substituted by herbal and floral hops. Hints of minerals and honey.
Flavor of sweet pale malt, bread, floral hops, honey, minerals, grass, mild lemon and oranges, and oxidized apples. Dry and bitter aftertaste.
Light to medium body with low carbonation.
This seems to be well behind its prime date, so the rating is a bit unfair, though I tried to compensate it a bit.

A: Pours clear and golden with hints of copper and a fourth inch of head atop that sticks around for awhile and leaves a bit of lacing on the glass as you drink. Carbonation levels look solid. Very inviting for a lager.

S: Toasty malts, vanilla and butter with slight floral hop notes lingering in the background.

T: Follows the aroma quite well. Sweet grains with buttered biscuits, toffee, vanilla and cream give way to a lingering bitterness that morphs into a bittersweet flavor on the tongue after the swallow.

M: Light bodied, smooth and creamy with slight chewiness. Carbonation is tamer than expected. Super sessionable.

O: Honestly one of the better lagers I've had the pleasure of drinking. Simple, but well done. If you're looking for refreshment or drinkability, look no further.

330ml bottle poured into a pils glass
A: Golden color with a one-finger head that slowly settles
S: Full aromatics of raw grain & a hint of coriander
T: Rich biscuit/malt up front and a slightly herbal finish
M: Light bodied, smooth with pleasant carbonation
O: If the big American brewers would make lagers half this good, I would be much more inclined to drink them. This is what the style should be

Finger of head on a clear medium straw colored body.
Excellent aroma of grain and honey.
Pretty good tasting too. It has medium bitterness throughout with a touch of sweetness in the middle.
Crisp and medium body, moderate carbonation.
A delicious lager.

Primator Premium Lager
Pivovar Náchod a.s.
Style: Czech Pilsener
ABV: 5.00 %

LOOK: Pours a light golden color with fine clarity and soapy white foam. Leaves some lace on the glass.

SMELL: Bready malts, lager yeast and a herbal, grassy, slightly spicy smelling noble hop.

TASTE/FEEL: More or less in line with the nose, bready malts, cracker like yeast and a drying, herbal somewhat pungent hop. Well carbonated, with a mild bitterness and a gentle crispness. Light bodied, smooth, and easy drinking.

OVERALL: A pretty standard traditional lager here from the Czech republic. Soft hops in a lager for a refreshing character. Paired well with some assorted types of sushi.

Pours a brilliant gold hue with a slight chill haze casted over, poured this one into my vintage Miller High life flute pils glass. Bright white cloudy head forms thick and leaves nice even scattered lacing. Aroma has a nice pale malt biscuit sweetness with clashing green/grassy herbal hops. I'm guessing Saaz here with an underlying nice fruitiness. A nice brisk bitterness from the fresh herbal noble hop profile, you really can't beat a nice Czech style pils a bit of caramelized sugar from the light toasted pilsener malts, not the most interesting beer but a satisfying one. This is probably consumed in massive quantities closer to where it's brewed at almost 3 dollars for one 11.2 oz bottle, I wound be having that same experience. Crisp dry herbal hop finish, with a nice rounded malt body. Again super refreshing with sturdy carbonation really drinks great, I wish I had a couple more bottles.

Pint bottle poured in a Pilsner glass on 10-15-11

A: 2.5 finger head, not very thick, fizzled away quickly. Light yellow color, very clear and no cloudiness. Well carbonated.

S: Spicy and crisp smell, enjoyable and summery with buttery notes.

T: Very light, I'm getting fruit essences but for a thin beer it is very flavorful.

M: Like mentioned above, very thing. Enjoyable for the flavor and surprising.

O: Not bad, but probably wouldn't order again. Would be better if I had enjoyed it during the summer, it is light and flavorful enough to be enjoyed by even casual beer drinkers.

Appearance A saturated orange golden yellow pour with a two finger bright white cap leaving frothy and airy lace sliding down the sides of the glass.

Smell My nostrils are filled with a rich and light malt note but also butter and bread undertones.

Taste This pilsner taste buttery, sweet and has light but distinct flavoring hops. I notice citrus and a hint of metallic as well. A hoppy bitterness comes after a while and stays on thorough the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel It feels like a rock solid pilsner this one, a whole lot more of a body than I’m used to when drinking pils. So I’d place the mouthfeel somewhere between heavy light to light medium. It also has a round and oily style. Packed with an evil but nice fizz.

Overall It’s one of those classic last-summer-day-of-the-year atmospheric evenings in Stockholm. It’s also Friday so people tend to get off work a bit earlier and wind down in time for the weekend. My family, a couple of friends and myself decided to meet up at Babylon Bar in the center of town. The bar’s owned by a family that operate a few Czech influenced restaurants and bars so naturally I felt inclined to order something Czech off the beer menu. Sitting in the sun in the outdoor section of the place I really wanted something mellow and easy and the pils was therefore the perfect match. A traditional and well crafted old-world pilsner from the heart of the Czech republic. Na zdraví!

(Served in a stemmed strange)

A- This beer pours a clear orange body with a lumpy cream head of off-white that slowly drags down the glass with each sip. There is a gentle carbonation of tiny bubbles.

S- The green Noble hop hint has a sulfur touch that is mellow with some raw grain and masa in the finish. As the beer opens up the sulfur note in the finish grows.

T- The soft crisp dry malt is followed by a soft dry green finish and a touch of mineral water to it. There is a faint green hop note that lingers a moment after the finish. The taste of masa cornmeal comes through as the beer opens up.

M- The medium-light mouthfeel has a gentle fizz to it in the crisp finish.

O- The nice clean beer is not really dry but it is still very easy to drink. The sulfur in the nose and taste just starts to overpower the other flavors and character a bit to much.

500ml bottle.

This beer pours a finely sediment-strewn pale golden hue, with one finger of tight foamy off-white head, which leaves some random amoebic specks of lace around the glass as it evenly settles. It smells of crisp biscuity malt, and spicy, grassy hops. The taste is bready biscuit malt, some aged fruity lemon, and fairly bitter herbal, grassy hops. The carbonation is on the soft side, the body medium weight, a bit oily, and nice and smooth. It finishes more or less clean, the malt diminishing somewhat, letting the earthy, grassy hops show a bit more leg.

A decent Czech lager, exhibiting a more malty profile than the norm, the hops overshadowed a tad. Still, nice and drinkable, and very reminiscent of time spent on summer patios in Prague.

S - Wheat and sweet malt. Grain. Slight sharpness at finish.

T - Wholesome clean malt and grain features gently bittered.

M - Medium body, good carb, nice balance.

D - Very easy to drink.

500 ml can from Prague

Pours golden, aroma is typical light malt with spicy hops. Taste is similar sweetish malt with pleasant grassy hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium, seems to be a bit thicker than standard Czech Pils.

Overall, drinkable, but not very exciting beer, it seems that several other Primator brews are way better.

500 ml bottle. A number stamped on the back label. Classy-looking, light-brown bottle.

Pours a clear, light golden. A white head soon dissipates, but patches the glass a bit. Smell is of cut grass. The first taste is a husky, light malt, but soon the taste buds are deluged with mineral - gobs of metallic, heavy well-water flavor. Finishes with a crisp, snappy hops. Tasty indeed. This would pair well with some good, sharp cheese.

I bought a Mix and Match 6-pack of this at Badger Spirts in Beloit, WI in Summer 2011.

Pours a clear, clean amber color. Has a decent head with an average amount of carbonation. Scent is that of some grassy grains mixed with a slighty amount of citrus. Has a nice texture that isn't too thin or too heavy. Taste is rather wheat like and mellow. Drinks rather well, especially on a hot summer day.

I've had good experiences picking up random German and Czech imports from BevMo, and this was no exception.

Pours pretty, stays pretty. Smells grassy and alcoholic, but not bad at all.

Tastes like grassy barley, with a flavor and bitterness that hangs out on your tongue for quite some time after you swallow. Really full for what BA defines as a "pilsner".

It's a beer that you can tell has had some effort put into its crating. This beer has Europe written all over it, and is at a great price, considering they had to get it all the way from Czech Republic to California with a price of $2.39 for a half liter.

Clear golden colored beer with a medium sized white head.

Smells yeasty and spicy lots of hop. Lots of bread and grass with some saffron.

Starts out Sweet and hoped on the tongue. Defiantly on the sweet end of the Pilsener scale good assertive hop bite. Very grassy flavor, herbal with a medium bite.

Mouthfeel is thick for the style.

Very drinkable beer in the upper 25% for the style.

The color when poured was a clear golden yellow with an orange hue. A fair amount of foam. The smell of hops and yeast was evident. A typical Lager aroma. The taste was your better Larger flavor. Nice balance of hops and malt. Not to bitter, but a nice balance of hops and malts, also a nice balance of bitter/sweetness, the bitterness wasn't overpowering.

Pours a clean, pale yellow color with a white head. In the aroma, sweet lager like with a small hop. In the taste, earthy malt and a dry saaz hop. A small bite and a light to medium bodied mouthfeel, with a dry earthy malt aftertaste. Nice dry, fresh hop presence and a touch of earthiness.

The Primator brand just started to show up in the local stores, 3 varieties, I remember I had had the doppelbock awhile ago and it was pretty harsh. 11.2 oz brown bottle.

Unfortunately all I have is a standard american pint glass to have this in but isn't that what most people drink this out of anyways?
It pours a clear gold, not as dark as some of the other Czech examples, definitely crystal clear. The head is big, fluffy and white and recedes semi-slowly to some decent lacing.

The smell is a huge letdown for the style. Mild grass and huskiness, a hint of bread, but very flat smelling.

Taste is a bit better, the hops come though with a bit more bitterness, actually a pretty high amount for the style, but still it is incredibly over-herbal. The malt isn't what I love from a Czech Pils either.

It does have a nice mouthfeel though.

There are better Czech Pilseners out there, but some people might like this more than me, it is very herbal for the style.

edit, it gets better as it warms, usually I don't have my pilseners as cold as i originally had this one, def enjoyed cool, not cold, still it is pretty average.

A clear golden brew with a white head that recedes quickly leaving some lacing.

The smell is malty, bread and faintly of molasses, sweet lemon and somewhat metallic.

Tasting of biscuits, lemon curd, and bitter lemon zest.

Medium high carbonation, fresh liquid and a dry finish.

An average pilsner.

Straw yellow in colour. Lots of tiny CO2 bubbles streaming upwards. Fluffy, white foamy head stays in place for several minutes and slowly begins shrinking down. Quite average looking considering the style.
Smell is bready malts with a bit of earthy hops and little else.
Taste, too, is bready malts with earthy hops bringing up the rear.
This is a good Czech beer, but nothing amazing. It's definitely a well crafted beer without the "skunk" I was expecting, and highly drinkable! I'm sure this would pair well with a lot of different foods, as well. Glad I tried it, and considering the price (around $2,99/500mL) I'll certainly look for it again.
