Purchased at Beermart in Ulsan, South Korea, poured into my sole surviving pilsner glass.

Pours a lovely apricot amber, with a tight head that quickly settles to a thin, consistent layer.

The nose isn't particularly strong; yeast and malts come through, along with some fresh dough and a bit of fruit, like an danish pastry perhaps..

The breadiness is pretty dominant in the taste, too, with some hay or straw-like bitterness to balance it. Quite full in the mouth, but crisp and refreshing on a hot day such as this.

Will drink again.

Clear yellow colour with lots of small bubbles and an off-white head.

Dry, malty smell with hop aromas and hints of yeast.

Rather pleasant taste with malts and floral hops. Well balanced bitterness in the finish.

The carbonation is what saves the day and help bring forth the malts and the hops of a brew that would otherwise be a little boring.

What a lovely lager this is. It pours a dark golden colour with a rocky white head, the nose is full of the classic Czech Saaz floral notes. The beer itself was crisp, I would eve say it was slightly tart with a nicely rounded body, a very refreshing lager, which could quite easily become a regular in the fridge

Im not a big fan of chech lagers; they are often too sweet, I like the german ones better.

To me, Primator is a good lager, no more no less. Taste and smell is malty with bread, butter, flowers, grass. Nice hoppy profile, and not too sweet, I think. Good balance between malt and hops.

Nice beer when the weather is hot.

A - This hazy peach/apricot hued brew threw up a four finger-plus white head when poured into my big ass heavy glass mug. This is darker than most pilseners and lacing is only decent. Head retention is so-so, as the head goes away within five minutes and does not come back with agitation.

S - Malty as all hell with a giant yeast presence. This smells like a dried apricot studded scone or a peach tart bakery treat. Peach cobbler maybe? Touches of spicy hops hint at the style of this brew. nice.

T - Summery fruits...peach, pear, apricot, and maybe even a little cantaloupe. This has more hop spice than the malty nose suggests, and I appreciate the nearly flawless balance of this beer.

M - Medium bodied with middling carbonation and a dry peppery finish.

D - Drinkability is probably this brew's forte. More heavily malted and fruity than most pilseners, this is a good definition of what I consider perfect malt/hop balance. I liked this one a lot!

The colour is medium gold, the three finger head is off-white, airy and firm.

The smell is fresh and malty (sweet) with lots of noble hops; bitter, buttery and flowery flavours.

The taste is hoppy with butter, a passing bitterness and lots of sweet malts. The aftertaste is rather sweet with creamy notes of butter/cream, some minerals and a mild pleasant bitterness in the finish.

The carbonation is fresh and medium strong. Small bubbles. The liquid is mid-smooth.

A fresh Czech beer with the hops of a pilsner and the maltyness of a lager.

Standard fare Czech lager. Slightly cloudy golden colour with a nice white head.

Flowery hop and light malt smell. There are traces of - and I am not kidding- urine. Seriously...there is a faint hint of something that smells like pee.

So-so taste. The saaz stands out, malt is okay. It had almost a lemony-flavour on the first sip, but that disappeared right away. Too bad, as that would almost be enjoyable.

Carbonation is alright, this easy to drink, but not as nice as Budvar.

Beer bottle (50cl), tasted in 2004.

Appearance : Pale golden color, with medium creamy foam head.
Smell : grass and flowery hops aromas.
Taste and mouthfeel : Flavor is bittersweet, fruity maltiness balanced by an herbal hoppy background
Drinkability : an average beer in Czech pilsener style

A: golden yellow with a bubbly head that dissipates quickly and leaves very little lace

S: beautiful cherry nose with floral hops subtle banana and vanilla aromas

T: nicely balanced grassy, banana and tangy cherry flavour with an alcohol snap

M: creamy, medium body with good carbonation and an oh-so-smooth finish

D: A delicious pilsener from the country who does it best! For me, this is not session beer – it wouldn’t do it justice. I would savour this one slowly.

I am a fan of the tall can filled with Eiro lager as I find it maintains the freshness over bottles. This is a nice Czech Pils that compares with Urquell et al. with its hops bite and fresh finish. Big enough in body to satisfy but smooth enough for summer drinking. Worth the purchase.

There are quite a few Czech beers imported to Sweden but unfortunately Systembolaget only include a handfull of them in their ordinary store selection. So since it's a state monopoly one has to order from the importer through Systembolaget and they add an appropritae sales tax. In that way a beer that would cost fifty cents in the store in Prague will set you back 1,50 bucks in Sweden. The things we have to tolerate just to drink beer!

Primator's Premium Lager is a special order beer in Sweden. It poured in a nice, golden color but not with much foam. The taste is great with apple and pear notes, perfume-smelling hops and citrus. The taste did not quite live up to the expectations created by the smell. Nevertheless it's a bitter, bready taste with some sourness and very typical for this type of beer. Maybe too much carbonation, though. All and all, it's a good pilsener that tastes even better a little over-chilled. Very refreshing!

Blind tasting at my brother-in-laws, poured into a Berliner Kindl half litre sleeve glass.

Looks and smells like a German/Czech lager, sorry pilsner, obviously from Europe, I said Germany, you can decide if that is good or bad.

Nothing bad, nothing really good about it. Not dry enough to challange the better pilsners, but not sweet either.

The bootle was a 50cl brown affair, The Sunday Times Wine Club sell them by the cardboard crate at a very good rate, according to my brother-in-law. He is welcome to them!

500 cl brown bottle. Color pale golden, high level of carbonation, modest head, even more modest lace.

Aroma hoppy with hint of herbs and spices.

Start spritzy, malty, body slender, on the dry side, by no means not thin. Smooth and pleasant mouthfeel when the carbonation settles down. Great hoppy finish and delightful spicy aftertaste.

A decent beer. The best from Nachod brewery.

Light hop aroma (Saatz) A little malt.

Pours pale gold and perfectly clear. Smallish but persistant head.

Nice interplay of pils malt and bittering hops. Clean and malty but with a nice hop aftertaste.

Pretty much everything you look for in a czech Pils-type lager. Refreshing, bitter but not palate challenging. I could drink a lot of this.

Pours pale Yellow with some oranginess, nice thick head in my pils glass that faded a bit but not completely, left a nice white layer.

This thing has some aroma, a hoppy floral scent was evident from a couple feet away on the pour. Upon closer inspection I picked up on some grain as well.

Flavor was good, pretty close to other czech beers i've tried, however it went down a bit watery and there was some sugary sweetness in there that i did not expect.

Overall, pretty tasty, but I know there are better czechs out there for my palette

500 ml brown bottle with no freshness date. Foiled neck and gold bordered label give the bottle a nice look.

A- Good looking head off of a hard pouring in a 1/2L pilsner glass, bright yellow hue shows of a great clarity and bubbles rising to the top of the glass.

S- Perfume-like spicy hops with a fresh hay like maltiness ... a very pleasing aroma to say the least.

T- A very grassy palate of fresh pale malt, I can pick off a vague earthy and salty character. Hops and to the grassiness with a stand-up spiciness. A tad watery in the back as the malt drops off yet the hops hold strong with a solid bitterness and more spiciness.

M- Strong arm of crispness stays firm yet is not overwhelming.

D- Very easy to put down a few of these.

A good pick for a Czech Pils, right up there with the best of them. I paired this with a smoke sheep's milk cheese(sharp), they went very well together.

Pours a beautiful amber orange, somewhere 'tween ripe apricot and tangerine. Inch thick head that dissipated quickly. Lovely little bubbles that are fun to watch. Aroma very typical for true euro pils... like standing outside a large brewery on a windy spring day after the rain. Flavor pretty complex for a pils, a little citrusy buckling under the weight of stern hops fading to the normal pleasant euro skunkiness. Crisp and bracing in the mouth, with those lovely little bubbles giving the exact, perfect amount of carbonation. Unlike some others, I could drink a few of these at a time.

Appearance - This one is light orangish-yellow in color with some good carbonation and a moderate head.

Smell - The light corn and grain is borderline offensive and the grainy sweetness at the end comes on suddenly.

Taste - The grain picks up some orange flavor at the taste. The finish is corny and leaves a long aftertaste.

Mouthfeel - This light-bodied Pilsner has some good, active carbonation and is smooth in the mouth. It is very refreshing.

Drinkability - This is a bit harsh for a Pils but it's a good drinker. I wouldn't have more than one at a time, though.

Update - Had this one again in 2010 and didn't like it much better than before. There's just a nasty cornish aftertaste to this Pils that frustrates the hell out of me.

Pours gold with an exuberant head of whipped milk.
Nose full of saltines, lilacs, and potatoes.
Begins pale malted and dry. The essense of stale plain bagels. Flashes of sweetness. Ephemeral stawberries and vanilla cream. Now back to dryness, but grassier presently. The last, dying bloom of the May lilac bush. Burnt out patches of August lawn. Wind scattered leaves in early October.
Honeyed pear creeps below.
Light bodied, steady of bead, and firm feeling, flowing freely down the hatch.
This is choice!

Very nice lager, pours a golden yellow with white head that is quite nice to look at, lacing is average. The smell is very malty, slight toasted grain, touch of fruit. The taste is maltier than most lagers, rich but still smooth, goes well with meals, the caramel grains are pleasant, slight hops cleanses the palate, light bodied and great session beer.

A malty, metallic Bohemian pilsener, pouring a slightly tarnished brassy color with decent head, leaving stagnant pools of foam and minimal lacing. Strong malty aroma with elements of bread crust, cracker, and vague boiled vegetables. The beer goes down quite easily, with a generous sweetness from the malts balanced by typical pilsner hoppage: heavily herbal, a bit of grass, and maybe even a twinge of black licorice. A large gulp reveals a sharpness and slight sourness that is most likely the result of time and travel. Hops taste slightly stale but I am inclined to hold that against the importer, distributor, and vendor, rather than the brewery. Easily avoided by taking smaller sips and revelling in the malty qualities up front. Mouthfeel thin and refreshing; drinkability decent if not through the roof.

A clear brew, pale straw in color with a yeasty, lagerish aroma and a scant white head. Delivers the goods but not in great quantity. The flavor is dry and reserved, the body is thin, the mouthfeel ordinary. A trickle of carbonation rises upwards and some yeast sediment sits below. This is a pleasant drinking beer but very modest in scope. Don't go out of your way for it.

The beer pours the archetypal limpid golden yellow color with the stereotypical bright white and large spumous head, and as it desiccates the lace a forms a fine covering upon the glass. Nose is thee quintessential lager nose, malt that is somewhat sweet, citrus crisp and clean, the prototypical lager start that is nicely malted and lightly sweet, top is fair to middling in feel. Finish is almost astringent in its carbonation with the hops apropos to the style and the aftertaste dry and lingering, in all honesty one of the better lagers I have sampled.

Comes in a tall brown half-liter bottle with a nice enough label featuring a coat of arms and a Czech castle. Sugar is an ingredient. Best before 9/18/04, I opened it on 12/22/03.

Pours clear gold under a one finger white head with some body but not much staying power. The nose features mild flowery hops. The mouth is crisp, light and prickly. The taste is almost all hops, a bit harsh, a bit metallic (thanks to the sugar, I suspect) and a bit flowery underneath it all. There's also some spiciness here somewhere, reminiscent of coriander. A very good bitter bite emerges in the aftertaste. OK, but a bit disappointing.

Dad picked up a case of this for 8 pounds or something ridiculous like that, with that in mind this isn't bad. Slightly honeyish with ssome floral hops, fairly bitter. But lacking in most departmnets, nothing distinctive or anything, just a simple, quaffable lager.
