i am bummed. this comes from after a brief stint in London this fall and drinking this stuff like water. its pretty clear its just not the same over here.
ah well it started out promising. nice deep amber color slight off white head on top. just how i remembered it.
but the aroma is just not there. there usualy is a nice english hop aroma that i would describe as an english golf course. :-) really don't know the correct word here but that's how it sounds
it tastes good but not great, and that's the problem here. normally i could drink it all day long as it has the perfect blend of all the appropriate flavors. this time around everything was muted.
well i will still rock this out hardcore when back in the pubs but over here i will probably look elsewhere

When we were in London for 10 days this was a true palate opener. I had made the progression from light beers to ambers and ales. This ESB straight from the cask at cellar temperature was my gateway beer into awesomeness.
I've since had this beer over in the states in the bottle and it isn't nearly the same beer, which was expected. The smooth balance of flavor and strong mouthfeel were mostly gone.
My palate has changed but I am sure I'd still be able to drink too many pints of this from the cask.
