Poured from a nitro can into a schooner. No obvious best before date.
A - deep black in color with some ruby around the edges. Compact tan head coats the glass.
S - hint of caramel malt on the nose; not a lot there otherwise.
T - lots of great flavor in this one - slight bitterness makes way for a bit of smoke followed by some really smooth chocolate malt. Finishes practically like a chocolate milkshake.
M - really light mouthfeel with a smooth creaminess (thanks nitro).
D - extremely drinkable; could put a bunch of these down.
Very nice easy drinking but very flavorful porter. Years of practice makes this perfect!
Serving type: nitro-can

Poured from a bottle into a snifter at around 45°F
Appearance: Brown with a mahogany tent when put up to the light. Small off white head
Smell: Sweet caramel malt and toffee
Taste: Identical to the smell
Mouthfeel: Medium body; slight bitterness and goes down smooth
Overall: I shouldve known what I was getting into after trying Anchor Porter the other week. This was just too sweet with not enough coffee notes. I prefer American style porters all the way (Founders, Smuttynose, Eddy Fitz)
Serving type: bottle
