A: very dark and thick, no visible rising carbonation, 2 finger soft fluffy foam head.
S: malt coffee with a hair of cocoa. not sweet or bitter. very coffee like.
T/M: metalic, almost black coffee. Above average I suppose. A bit bitter and slightly astringent. Above average but not outstanding. Fairly plain.
O: Ok. A bit disappointing considering the great reviews it has, but I'm not a porter person.

poured into a tulip. best before date Valentine's Day 2010. pitch black, glimmer of demonic red only when held right to the light... minimal head, cappuccino froth color...
first thing i smell is chocolate.... grapes, breads, roasted espresso beans, bailey's irish creme... i love the aroma. i can smell this forever.
Chocolate and coffee, incredibly smooth, incredibly creamy. a bit of fresh pepper, guava paste and cinnamon, all tying in with an overall roasted character. This is amazing.
Like I said, it's smooth, it's creamy...aftertaste is like you just took a shot of turkish espresso after eating a small pastry.
I've been drinking real beer for only a couple years and I know I'm not on the level of some of you. But this is one of the best porters I've ever had.

a: a big thick two inch tan head sits atop a near black body. i say near black because it is a deep dark brown. the head slowly recedes to leave minimal lacing.
s: roasted coffee, roasted malts, roasted chocolate, roasted everything.
t: more roastiness, a nice blend of malts, a little bitter on the back end.
m: full body, good carbonation, rich and smooth.
o: a really nice porter.

A: The beer pours a very dark brown, almost black with a thin tan head that quickly fades.
S: The beer has a lot of roasted scents with a good bit of black liquorice. Also sort of smells like bread.
T: Has a nice bit of roastedness and some chocolate. I am also picking up on a little coffe after taste.
M: The beer is very smooth and easy to drink. It does have a little crispness on the back of the throat, but it sort of ads to the enjoyment of the beer.
O: This is a very tasty beer. I bought it expecting to be delicious and man it didnt let me down. I can't wait to have another.
