Very dark brown, but not quite opaque. One finger of foam that leaves a small lace crown around the pint glass. Nutty and chocolatey aromas. Generic roasted nut aroma, but it's a freshly roasted scent that's very nice. Hazelnut and chocolate note, think Nutella. The first whiff is very pleasurable, probably this beer's best attribute.

Roasted malt flavors with a balancing bitterness throughout. Closer to a brown ale than a rich stout in terms of dark malt character. Fruity esters can still be detected. Some coffee and licorice on the finish. Soft, slick mouthfeel. A bit more carbonation would help, but this is pleasantly smooth without a trace of harshness as-is.

London Pride is a great dark ale that's more than the sum of its parts. Everything comes together to yield a porter that's tasty and easy to knock back, if not quite at sessionable ABV levels. While generally $10+ per sixer (in NJ, eastern US), it's worth the price tag.

Served in pint glass

Enjoyed at Churchill Arms on Christmas Eve.

A: Deep brown. 1.5 (mocha) fingernail head.

S: Dark roasted malt, chocolate, toasty, caramelised brown sugar, vanilla, and hint of coffee. Beautiful.

T: Just like it smells...complex and well-rounded. Very nice.

M: Medium-full bodied and medium carbonation.

O: A very nice and enjoyable brew. Smooth, toasty, big, and robust. Think it should definitely be enjoyed on-draft though. Great job Fuller's!

11.2 oz brown bottle

Fullers London Porter filled my mug with a very dark brown almost black color that formed a bubbly 1-finger tan head. The head shrunk rather fast leaving a ring of fine bubbles. The aroma is dominated by roasted malt, caramel and chocolate. The taste matches the aroma with the addition of light coffee. The mouth feel is smooth and creamy with a light-medium body and just the right amount of carbonation
.
Fullers London Porter is a tasty, easy drinking and flavorful English Porter.

Pours a lovely brackish black/brown with a creamy puffy light tan head. Lots of retention and solid lacing.

Smells weakly of cofee and toasted almond.

Tastes like a good porter should. Doesn't try to overwhelm you. Lots of subtle coffee and light chocolate notes. Lightly hopped, finishes slightly dry.

Mouthfeel is moderate with the carbonation being in the back where it belongs.

Very very drinkable. Goes down like liquid silk.

Very dark brown color with dark amber highlights and a nice cap of fine, dense tan head that laces quite well. Aromas of toasted malts and caramel highlight the rich, soft nose. Unexpected light crispeness at the start of the taste quickly yields to roasted flavors than then share the stage with nicely incorporated bitterness. While the smell and taste are quite full, the mouthfeel is pleasantly balanced, which goes a long way in making this an exceedingly drinkable porter.

A-very rich looking dark brown, with a thick tan head, about three fingers worth before it rolled over the rim of my mug!!

S-terrific smells from this dark brew, bitter fruits, perfectly burnt malts, dark chocolates

T-carmels,light toffee flavors mix well with coffee traces, finishing with a slightly smokey aftertaste that is there until the next sip

M-great well rounded mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation that feels a lot like a frothed latte

D-rather drinkable for such a dark pour, would be hard to stop after one if there were another lying around, but for tonight this was a great beer after a long holiday filled with watery beers

Very dark ruby pour, medium tan, creamy head, slowly diminishing to leave good lacing. Aroma is strong, with dark choocolate, roasted cofee, and caramel taking the lead. Flavor follows, with the coffee taking the initial lead, followed by hints of caramel, and finishing with a long lasting dark chocolate taste. Very solid mouthfeel, light carbonation on the tongue, and that long lasting flavor keeps you remembering what you just drank for a while afterwards.

Found a can of this at a local store. I hadn't seen any new Fuller's on the shelves around here, so I snagged one.

A: Poured from a non-widget can into an imperial pint glass. Pinkie finger tall tight head, with a looser, bubbly top. Dark, dark auburn, nearly opaque.

S: Sweet malt and nutty. Slightly smoky bitterness as well.

T: Nice restrained caramel with nutty and roasty elements. Little on the weak side. I expect a little more flavor and oomph from any kind of porter.

M: Little too empty for me. Smoothness I can expect in a porter, but this was just on the weak side.

D: Would certainly be a great session brew. Drinkable, tasty, with no real glaring flaws.

A - Pours upa very dark brown, almost black, with ruby highlights and a tan head that dissipates to a thin cap of foam on top. Gorgeous.

S - Strong aroma of roasted malt, almost coffee like.

T - Starts with a hint of sweet malt, quickly replaced with roast malt/coffee flavor, and finishing with a cream-like sweetness.

M - Slightly thin. Probably appropriate for the style in the UK, but I'm an American dammit, and I want a thicker porter. Just kidding.

D - Fortunately, the roast malt finish is fleeting otherwise this would be an oppressive beer. As it is, there is no lingering bitterness, making this an extremely drinkable beer.

Appearance: Dark reddish brown, almost black in colour. The head is a shade darker than tan, and quite heavy. Medium carbonation

Aroma: Dark malts, liquorish, and honey. There is also an astringent iron-like metallic aroma.

Taste: Quite bitter from the start, with espresso coffee, dark chocolate, and I also get a taste a bit like burnt toast. The aftertaste is woody and smoked, and dominated by roasted malts.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, smooth, and a touch oily in the texture, which gives it a clingy quality. The carbonation is light.

Drinkability: An understandable classic. The taste and the feel of this porter are world class, and the potency and fullness of the flavours at just 5.4% ABV are phenomenal. The easy in which it goes down is a worry, like most good beers are.

Poured froma bottle into a pint glass

A-Dark dark brown nearly black except against direct light, pours with a small yet good retaning creamy head.

S-Rich bold dark rosted coffee scent, as well as the rich malt, notes of nuttyness as well as simi-sweet chocolate

T&M-Rosted coffee very strong, espresso, in the front as well as the back, bittersweet chocolate. Very smooth med. body.

D-This is an excellent porter and may very well be the best one i've ever had, something even at 12.50 a six i'd be willing to pay.

Pouring into a pint glass results in a jet black ale with a bit of head that evaporates quickly, leaving minor lacing on the glass. Smell is very slight, but contains some mocha hints. Taste starts out bitter with some medium roasted coffee flavor, but evolves into more chocolaty than coffee flavor. Slightly dry, but very drinkable overall. I would probably save it for after a meal, instead of a complement to one, like a post-dinner coffee or chocolate.

Poured a two finger head from a nitro can, decent retention - rich chocolate colour - off colour caramel head - smell of coffee and malt - taste of bitter choclate and some coffee with a refreshing bitter after taste - perfect mouthfeel - a little bitter, nice carbonation and a silky smooth finish - overall - outstanding porter and one of my top ten

ive overlooked this for far too long and it was time to try it. poured almost black, a deep brown with a small offwhite head. smells of coffee and roasted malt. the taste is near perfect, smokey roasted malts, coffee and cocoa. good balance of everything. the mouth feel is lighter than i expected, slightly creamy but not heavy at all. the drinkability is extremely high as this does not weigh you down or hit you like a brick with a high abv. this is going to become a common member of my fridge.
