A - Clear, translucent brown. Little, dissipating head.
S - Cereal malts, notes of chocolate, cocoa, caramel. Slight floral hop character.
T - Light roast character, bakers chocolate. Signature English water profile character - that I can only (endearingly) describe as gravelly really accentuates the roast character and the earthy hop bitterness.
M - Light, dissipating and drinkable, as a porter should.
O - It's an archetype, what more to say?

A: Pours a dark garnet red with a scant tan head.
S: Roast Coffee, raisin and plum dominate the aroma with a touch of vanilla. No hop aroma to speak of.
T: Coffee is the feature with sweet dark fruits. A wee bit of chocolate. An ever so mild hop bitterness controls the malt sweetness, and this brew does finish semi dry with a touch of dark bread crust lingering on the palate.
M: medium to medium full body with a velvety mouthfeel. Low carbonation.
O: WOW. This is one beautiful malty treat. It's got the perfect amount of roast and coffee with just a hint of chocolate sweetness. The hop base, gives a mild bitter underpinning while still letting the malt steal the show. This is the perfect beer for those who don't like the full body of a stout but want a stout character. A definite winner.

a very nice $1.79 spent... coco, coffee, malty nose. dark toasted oats, roasted nuts dominate the flavor with a slightly creamy mouthfeel. Nice malts coming through and a wonderful coffee finish. couldn't really notice any significant hops presence, as the coffee rules the finish. A nice porter and very nice for the price.
