Served in a pint glass

A: golden, clear, small head, decent retention.

S: hoppy, grapefruit.

T: fairly sweet, light citrus, wheaty bitter finish provides balance.

M: smooth, crisp, light.

O: a proper session beer, subtle flavours keep you interested and provide depth but abv won’t cause problems.

yeasty and wheaty aroma

tastes quite tart, like a bead -like cake,or a tea cake perhaps.

a bit watered down as it is fullers session beer and is probably the weakest of their main beers it is also not as good as there ESB , london Porter, or london pride,

little head on this honey colored (red/gold)ale
great hops and refreshing clean/dry after taste.
nice little ale as always with fullers

Poured from a 500ml bottle into a straight pint glass.

Pours a golden colour with a nice head that fades down quickly, minimal lacing too.

Smells faintly fresh and malty.

Tastes nice, well balanced between hops and malts with just a fresh citrusy kick.

Overall a lovely drinkable beer.

I had an Imperial pint of this at a pub on a recent visit to London. In general I don't live british ales (they're a little malty for my taste) but I always like to try something new. This one was pretty interesting and, from what I hear, new.

Appearance is blonde, as the name would suggest. Cask pull so not very carbonated. As with most english ales, very cloudy.

Aroma was a little light. Some malt, maybe a hint of hops.

Flavor was light but distinctly different from the other british ales. A little more bit and a bit more refreshing.

Overall a good beer, especially on a hot afternoon.

Golden to amber colour with a foamy white head on top. The head starts about a finger width tall before gradually reducing in size & leaving a thick, foamy lacing.

A sweet & incredibly fruity aroma. A strong citrus & tropical fruit mix that works well & is very summery on the nose.

Very sweet & quite fruity too although not as strong as the smell. There is some pineapple & citrus fruit along with a bread like taste. The finish is a mild bitter one.

Medium bodied & a little chewy on the tongue but highly drinkable with a slight fizz to it.

A real surprise & not what I was expecting from this beer at all. It is a lot more fruity than I would have though & very nice indeed.

500 ml bottle, 4.5% ABV

Pours pale orange with dense white head that leaves rings of patchy lacing. Aroma is fruity and loads of fresh floral hops.

Taste is weak floral hops balanced with sweetish malt, later fruity notes start to appear that dominate aftertaste as well. Body is light with moderate carbonation.

Drinkable and rather unassuming pale ale.

A 500ml bottle with a BB of Jan 2012. ABV is stated as 4.5%. Described on the label as a refreshing blonde beer.

Poured into a Sam Smith's pint glass. A clear, light golden colour with good carbonation. Produces a large head of creamy white foam that remains for a few minutes before disappearing. Sweet, fruity aroma with a strong note of bubblegum. Hints of light malt, grain, citrus and a background note of butter.

Tastes of light malt with a crisp, refreshing bitterness. Notes of floral and citrus hops, elderflower, oranges and bubblegum. A buttery hint lurks in the background. Bitterness is mild but pleasant. Mouthfeel is smooth and tingly, leaving the palate slightly dry. Aftertaste of light citrus hops.

As light ales go, this is pretty good. The flavour is relatively subtle but aromatic hops add a nice dimension to it. Would go down nicely in summer - worth sampling.
