Fullers Chisick Bitter is a great session bitter, the apperence is of dark blond and the smell a nice hoppy aroma and the taste nice and bitter with a full burst of hops. A great beer to keep drinking all night long and is up there with youngs bitter.

Pale coppery gold. Disappointing head. Flopsy bubble ring adorns a popping top.

Dry herbal hop-snap with grassy malts and pomme esters, a la Fullers. Biscuity aromas with buttery notes.

Semi-crisp, lightly fruity, musty, grassy, and light. Herbal hop, pale grains, husks, pomme must, and pared-down toast.

Light and totally sessionable. Carbonation is lacking. Wish this was on nitro.

Was expecting better from Fullers. Still an enjoyable bitter.

(on tap at Victoria Freehouse - served in a proper 20oz pint)

A: light copper color, clear... bit of frothy foam on the pour, but little-no retention, not even a thin cap or film... boring

S: aromas are ultra-faint, not enough alcohol to carry them? - the glass doesn't help either - even warm, I couldn't get much... what you do get is a bit of a mineral, mild leafy scent (scant esters + hops).... also, some lightly-toasted dinner roll

T: the flavors pop a good bit more.... certain mineral bitterness throughout, at a comfortable yet lively level.... pleasing, slow swell of light caramel in the finish... extremely clean overall - apple-y esters are showcased with a soft, subtle grassy-grainy malt in the background... about what I expected, at the least

M: bright, crisp, and clean... only a smidge of roundness in the body... thankfully, not spritzy or fuzzy - they set the pressure right on!.... very refreshing, if a little filling, volume-wise

O: I could almost tell in a blind taste test that this was the Fuller's yeast... the flavors are on-point but perhaps a bit more subtle than I would have expected... I could drink a couple of these, but I'd likely opt for something with a bit more dimension

This is yet another beer from my July 2012 notebook that I had misplaced. I had it on tap at that time at Toad in the Hole, Santa Rosa, the local Sonoma County go-top place for British beers, among others.

Dark bronze, it had a small off-white head slowly shrinking to foamy ring.

Aroma was nice juicy grain, herbs, ripe apples, hint of lemon.

Taste was nice juicy grain, mineral, leafy woody hop and pepper, slightly bitter.

Overall, it is a very good English bitter, light and lean with clear hop leanings, but approachable and easily drinkable.
