Brewed for export, this refreshing, spicy beer is destined for foreign shores – just like its 19th century predecessors.

Pours a slightly hazy light orange amber, with an off-white orange-tinged head, very appealing. Unfortunately I don't get much on the nose at all, maybe a bit of caramel, that's it. The flavour is a different story. Gentle at first, but quickly building to a crescendo, the hops character dominates on the palate and after the swallow, though there is also a sturdy malt backbone, mostly caramel on the palate, then toasty biscuit on the finish. The balance is towards the hoppy side, though the malt seems to get more noticeable as the beer warms up a bit. The mouthful is smooth, rounded, and impeccably balanced. Overall a very good example of a true English IPA. This one gives Sam Smith's India Ale a run for its money.

Pours a slightly cloudy, golden amber coloration with a large, frothy head and visible carbonation. Smells of biscuity, slightly caramelly malt and citrus hops, with notes of grapefruit, as well as hints of pine. Taste is a great balance of biscuity, slightly caramelly malt and fruity, slightly resinous and spicy hops, with citrus notes of graoefruit and lime peel, as well as hints of black pepper and pine. Finishes with a medium bitterness and some grapefruit and pine lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.

This makes for a nice English IPA with a good balance of malt and hops, sweetness and bitterness and strong, zesty citrus notes as well as hints of peppery spice and pine, finishing with a good bitterness, while there's a really nice mouthfeel to this as well. Very nice example of the style that goes down easy and drinks rather pleasantly, with a distinct, zesty grapefruit note lingering in the aftertaste.

Had on cask. Murky brown body with a huge tan head, mild bands of lacing appear as the head descends. Smell and taste are clones: caramel malt that is more toasted than sweet, roasted nuts, earth base conjoin with the hops, granting flavors of herbal flowers, grapefruit pith, orange and a touch of grass. Feel is classic for the style: melding the malts and hops in a dry and cohesive way while being mild mannered.

500 ML Bottle served on a nonic pint.

Hazy cooper color. Two fingers of head, little retention. Nice look.

The smell is malty and a bit fruity, with notes of apple.

I really enjoyed the taste. I think It is a well balanced beer. You can perceive the malts sweetness, followed by a more sour fruity -apple like- taste. And, after that, the hops piney biterness, that is not too Strong.

Not an expert on IPAs. I found this refreshing and i liked It.

look: deep amber coloured beer, somewhat hazy, good bit of carbonation in the glass, two finger bubbly white head with good retention and lots of lacing.

smell: lots of sweet toasty malty flavour, lots of caramel, some fruit flavours, fig, some citrus fruits, definitely a hoppy bitterness.

taste: sweetness comes first, then those roasted toasty flavours, lot of caramel, those fruit flavours don’t really shine, nice bit of hop bitterness on the finish, maybe a tad metallic.

feel: medium body, medium carbonation, wet sticky mouthfeel, slight warming of the back of the throat.

overall: a bang on english ipa really, very drinkable, very pleasant.

Thin and light pub cask at Swan near Paddington.

A) Pours a small, white head of foam with mid retention and= lace as it recedes. Over body of clear, copper.
S) Typical Fullers malt base from which rises some orchard fruit and honey.
T) Lots of malt up front. then apple, brown toast, some grassy hops, some must.
F) Medium body, low carbonation, and a dry finish.
O) Good for a British pub. Sessionable. But I could only do one and would move to something with more bite and interest.
