I purchased this at Giant Beer Garden and Eatery, poured chilled in a wilybecker
The color is dark brown with hazed translucent clarity with rocky pale tan head with fine bead and streamers of lace sticking. The smell has a very wierd vinous almost brett-like tangy fruity and spicy smell with woody scent. The feel is toasted with creamy body and yeasty with medium high carbonation and low sweetness with semi-dry finish.
The taste has a very mild cocoa taste up front with more of a roasted grain or chocolate malt taste with slight stone-fruit masking a yeast twang wtih light chalk flavor and woody spice that evokes a stale vanilla or maybe cinammon quality. The taste has a mild plum-like fruitiness in the back with mild grainy dry and roasty finish. Overall this is not terrible yet it is not that great as far as dark lagers go either -not much depth of flavor and not that much cocoa in the taste. The roast character verges on chalky which is not pleasant but it is a minor flavor that could be cacao making it taste green like unripened banana

From old notes:
Dark brown, mostly clear with light brown foamy head of moderate retention. Cinnamon aroma predominant, not so much cocoa. A little more cocoa on the palate, but cinnamon is almost cloying. Some roastiness and dark fruit character, but very mediocre. Medium in body and creamy to effervescent.

Drank from the bottle so I can't comment on look.
Smelled of chocolate and spices, maybe malty.
Bold, dark chocolate taste. Good on a cold winter's night. Light carbonation and went down smooth.

Dark black color but a thin head. Nice spicy nose with cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, anise and some cocoa.
The flavor is reminiscent of a pumpkin beer with the nutmeg and allspice taking the forefront. There's a nice maltiness, chocolate perhaps, with some light coffee bean. I catch cocoa powder, roasted coffee and toasted barley.
It feels thin and cheap but overall this is a pretty decent beer.

Appearance: Pours a black cocoa color
Overall: Real good winter beer. Perfect mix of roasty cocoa and malts flavor. Worth a try.
