This is one of my favorite beers. Tastes great, not too sweet and with a good amount of malts. My favorite Leinie.

It looks : generous stark white head on top of a very bubbly and blonde colored body. Transparent all the way through.

It smells : light honey, which is a given; basic sweet Pilsner aromas with earthy hop. Ends with honey too.

It tastes : like a basic blonde lager with a touch of sweetness. It is sweeter and smoother tasting than their original though not as interesting, but I like wheat beers so I may be biased. Some light grassiness, a bit of earthy hop.

It feels : lightly creamy, light to medium bodied, moderately carbonated. Ends wet.

Overall : a very mediocre beer. You can drink it but it's far from impressive in any way. I probably wouldn't have it again unless there were no better options. One of Leine's worst offerings.

Beautiful looking, the taste does not match up to it. Fairly innocuous and not particularly memorable.. It is a passable beer. If you want to try all of the Leinie's there are better and worse than this one.

Serving: Cold bottle into glass

Appearance: Clear, golden yellow, with white, frothy head and surprising amounts of lace. I'm mildly surprised.

Smell: Definitely wheat, a fair amount of graininess, a bit of that 'clove' characteristic of weizen's but not overpowering. An interesting nose considering the source, but pretty light overall.

Taste: Pretty easygoing, however it is very grainy, and has a sulfuric aftertaste.

Feel: pretty light and crisp, though drying in the finish.

Overall: Not bad for Leinenkugel. This was one of my first beers and it's fun to go back to. I was surprised by the appearance and smell, but the taste did not quite deliver in my opinion. A good summer beer nonetheless.

Tastes like watered down lager. Each sip tastes worse than the last.

I really started enjoying these after a few, but all and all, this is just a very decent, light bodied beer and not much more. It's not bad and it's not great, but it is very drinkable. It's better than a lot of mainstream beers for sure.

A moderate pour produces a 1.5 inch frothy head that quickly dissipates to a wispy island of lace. The beer is an extra pale golden with moderate carbonation.

Just a whiff of honey in the aroma, otherwise light malt aromas and slight floral hops. The honey is more apparent in the flavor, and builds as the beer progresses. The honey has an unfermented quality, but is not overdone (i.e., mead-like characters are mostly absent). Pretty clean, semi-dry finish, with just a touch of pungency from the honey.

A welcome subtle use of honey in a beer, and one of Leinie's better brews. Purchased as part of a variety 12 pack.

Appearance was dark yellow with a thin head. The smell had the sweetness from the honey as well as a little bit of a bite from the hops. The taste was a little skunky but had a nice aftertaste and a good finish for the beer. The mouthfeel was light but refreshing. Overall an okay beer.

Serving: Bottle, from the bottle.
Served: 20 June 2014

Appearance: Had this from the bottle. Marginally interesting bottle art.

Smell: Some wheat notes dominated by an astringent earthiness.

Taste: Bland and bitter banana with more earthiness. Really harsh edge to this one.

Mouthfeel: Highly carbonated but thin body.

Overall: The worst Leinie's beer I've had and not one I intend on trying again soon. How is this their most popular beer?!

12 oz bottle served in a Fat Cat pint glass. Best by dated July 2014.

Golden with excellent clarity and a fine white head,

Light aroma and flavor, even for style. Hint of honey in the flavor but good, low sweetness.

O: exceptionally uninteresting.

Pours a finger of head on a clear, golden colored body.
The aroma is lemon and honey. Simple and nice.
The taste is predominately honey. The profile is a little disjointed going from a mild bitter beginning to a mild honey sweet to a strong sweet finish.
The texture is crisp and fizzy.
It's for the sweeter beer lovers.

Poured into a shaker pint glass.

Look: Crystal clear golden body, slowly rising bubbles. White foamy head that recedes to a film, no lacing.

Aroma: Metallic, grains, corn husk?

Taste: Cereal grain body, barely a touch of honey, and a sour finish.

Mouthfeel: Carbonated, semi-dry.

Overall: This tasted exactly like an American adjunct lager, with only a trace of anything resembling honey.

A- pours a clear & light straw colored, big fizzy white head reduces to a small layer of foam that retains after the pour

S- faint toasted graininess with a metallic aroma, some muted banana and pear, otherwise rather adjunct-like

T- not much there at all. There are some traces of fruity pear notes, a clean and crisp malty backbone, a light citrus linger on the finish. Didn't really pick up any of the honey

M- light watery body with medium carbonation, slightly foamy mouthfeel with a slick, dry and crisp finish

O- filtering a Hefe seems to also filter out any flavor as well. This seems like it would be more fitting in a summer variety pack, it's easy to drink on a hot day but doesn't really fit in to a fall pack

Weird!

So I've seen and heard about this beer quite often. I finally tried it and I really wanted to like it. However, this was just a deplorable attempt by Leinenkugal. The appearance is ok with not much of a head and no real lacing but the color may lead you to believe the are some layers of flavor in the glass. The scent is an overwhelming aroma of corn and every other type of cheap filler you can think. Call the smell rancid, skunky or just flat out cheap...it wasn't pleasant. The taste is so disappointing. I can't say it's too horrible as you can drink it...if your Nicholas Cage in "Leaving Las Vegas" and need a "fix" but the corn and grassiness hits you right of the bat and you then quickly get some nasty honey flavor. In my opinion there is balance here and it's all bad! The mouth-feel reminds me of tap beer from rusty pipes in a dive bar. Avoid this one! It's too bad , some of Leinenkugal's stuff isn't bad, but they crashed and burned on this one.

A - clear pale weak and clear. Too clear airy loose head and no lacing. Minor continued carbonation.

S - simple corn grain smells. no honey no sweetness.

T - Faint honey aftertaste. But otherwise no much different from an AAL style.

M - fine. Maybe the best part of this bland beer.

D - acceptable but not outstanding in anyway. Besr Served cold and when out of better beers.

Served in a nonic.

A: I have to say, this looks like a nice tall glass of urine. Clear, golden yellow with a short white head that dissipates fast leaving small amounts of lacing.

S: Smells like grass, grain, wheat, citrus

T: Meh, another mediocre light beer, very carbonated, hard to pick up on flavors but it's mostly grassy and wheaty, just another beer.

M: A light bodied beer but it is overcarbonated and it masks the flavors that are already faint to begin with.

O: Well I got a case of this for free from a guy who works at MillerCoors, I'll probably give it away, too me this is like a Budweiser equivalent but I think this tastes a tad bit better but that doesn't say much.

Bottle to mug.
Little head and light on the lace. Nice color, bright and inviting.
Very slight sweet aroma, malty.
Touch of sweetness and low on the hops.
Carbonated well but enjoyably smooth.
I quite enjoyed it, would suggest, good to just sit down and chill out with, not overwhelming.

Appearance:
Clear, pale sunflower color with a thin, white head. Retention is horrible with traces of lacing. Gobs of carbonation.

Aroma:
Dull. Musty wheat with a bit of honey. Mostly musty.

Taste:
Follows the aroma closely, unfortunately. Musty wheat with a decent amount of honey notes. Watery, everything about this screams, "watered down!" Faint citrus is detectable, but it's not able to redeem this one.

Mouthfeel:
It's crisp and extremely light with plenty of carbonation. Surprisingly refreshing if you can endure the taste. Finish is a hair on the dry side, we can chalk that up to the honey though.

Overall:
Not a complete wreck, but it's definitely nothing to write home about. If you're looking for something light for back to back drinking, there are plenty of others out there that offer more character and a more enjoyable experience. I couldn't in good faith recommend this to anyone.
