A: looks like a witbier, pale straw in color, thick, the head dissipates quickly, there is not carb at all, not filtered

S: the smell is not bad but is not like a beer should smell, its just a lemonade smell, some esters

T: altough its a mixed beer, its refreshing and tastes good, at least ther is some bitter after taste that is a little bit nice

Appearance is pure gold with some cloudy. Smell is strong with lemon. Mouthfeel has some lingering to it, with a pleasant sweet tartness. The taste is strong with the lemon-aid. This is a great taste on a good hot 90 degree day here in PA. Overall this is a true seasonal beer, good in the summer. Let us have some burgers and dogs.

This is an okay summer beer. I got it towards the end of the summer, probably the last batch (bottled on August 29)

Unfiltered yellow lemonade look.
There is a lace, its small but its there.

There is not a strong smell of lemon here, even when I breathe it through my nose. I was determined to get the smell from this one however, and I could smell that summery lemon smell when I twirled it in the glass.

A very "okay" summer beer, although I am sure I would like it better if I was drinking it on a hot summers night, instead of on a cold october night.

A: The beer is cloudy light yellow in color. It poured with a finger high white head that died down, leaving some lacing on the surface in the center of the glass and a thick ring of bubbles around the edge of the glass.
S: There are light aromas of citrus and sweetness, which smells like a cross between a soda and a lemonade.
T: The beer tastes like lemonade but isn’t as sweet or acidic.
M: It feels light-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The beer is easy to drink and refreshing; it is a good selection for a hot summer day.

12oz bottle poured into a Three Philosophers snifter.

Appearance - Very cloudy light yellow. Looks strikingly like fresh squeezed lemonade.

Smell - Sweet cane sugar and fresh lemons. Yep, I can already guess what it's going to taste like by now.

Taste - Sweet. Slightly bitter. Basically like lemonade but with less of that cane sugar sweetness.

Mouthfeel - Light-medium body. Refreshing.

Overall Drinkability - Great novelty beer. Does well what I'm sure it set out to do (taste like lemonade).

I'll review this beer as it were meant to be tasted . . . on a lake in the summer, in the parking lot of a concert tailgating the day away, etc . . . .

Pours out a pale, slightly cloudy yellow. No heavy carbonation to be noticed.

Smell is straight lemonade. A hint of bread/wheat on the backbone. Enticing when the temps break 90. Extremely enticing when the triple digits come into play.

Taste:
Here is the kicker. I can drink this all day priming up for a concert, at a game, on my boat, etc. At night around a fire, watching football in the fall it falls way short and it would go un-opened. How can one rate a beer a solid B yet a meager D at the same time?!?

Overall I'll give this a C+/B-. Depending on the venue and the atmosphere in which one is drinking, as well as for what purpose one is drinking, this can be a downright good beer or a sadly weak choice.

Drink it when the thermometer breaks 90!

Poured from a bottle into a Pilsner glass.

A: Pours to a hazy and yellow color. Not much head.

S: A noticeable hit of lemons. A beer smell is lingering behind the lemons but the lemon dominates.

T: I enjoyed the taste. My friends and I joke that this is the Arnold Palmer of beers. It has a straight-forward taste of lemonade and is accompanied by beer. The lemonade dominates the taste.

M: Crisp and refreshing. Fairly carbonated.

Overall this is a beer that I grab on a hot summer day. It goes down easy and really satisfies your thirst. My only complaint is that it is a bit too sweet. Drinkers who do not like flavored beers should avoid this.

A- Pours a two-fingered fizzy. white head on a cloudy pale body. Pour head retention, some lacing.

S- Smells like lemon juice...weird bread?

T- Taste more like a soda than a beer, Squirt comes to mind. Sugary sweet. There's this weird off-putting taste in there somewhere. Refreshing citrus aftertaste.

M- Very carbonated, would hate to puke this up D: Watery mouthfeel.

D/O- Points scored on the drinkability aspect, not the "overall" one...aspects evened out used for my score here. Made me burp a lot due to the high carbonation. If you enjoy this one, seek out the Potosi Steamboat Shandy, I found it to be much more enjoyable.

A: The beer pours a cloudy bright yellow color with almost no head, just a few white bubbles.

S: Mostly just smells like lemonade. It actually has a nice tartness to it, as if there might be some real lemons in it. Slightly sweet/sugary, though. Not much in the way of the base wheat beer.

T: Not quite as good as it smells. There is a nice lemonade flavor, but it's a bit watery. Somewhat grassy with a bit of straw flavor. Like the aroma, there isn't much in the way of actual "beer".

M: Light bodied with a medium level of carbonation.

O: Actually didn't mind this one too much. The aroma was much better than the flavor, though.

Poured into a fluted pint glass: presents very nicely, straw gold color with nice density and bright white head that lingers.

Smell is lemony, nearly lemonadey, almost too much so, but its refreshing; hints of wheat malt are there but feint.

Taste is almost exactly lemondade, tough to call this a beer but there is some malt/wheat flavors there.

Mouthfeel is slightly puckering heavy on the tongue in terms of sweetness, but dries in the finish.

Overall, this a suprisingly decent beer for the style attempt; if you have had shandies they are sweet and slightly malt; this nearly passes for fanta, i'd drink some after a long bike ride or day in the sun.

A: A hazy gold. Not much head.

S: Watery lemonade...tart...some orange wedge.

T: Lemonade that tastes a bit artificial. Countrytime added to Miller. Yuck. Maybe this is fruit loops as many think??? Light bitterness.

M: Light body...medium carbonation.

D: A lame example of something in between. If I want lemonade...I'll make some. If I want a decent beer...I'll have one. This is neither.

Freshness date NOV0711.

A - Pours cloudy pale gold with a small white head that dissipates into a thin layer of bubbles. Virtually no lacing.

S - Lots of citrus, especially lemon. Some sharp zest notes come through along with the fruit. Some faint biscuity malt aromas linger softly in the background.

T - Clean malt presence is much more apparent on the palate than it was on the nose. Wheat makes itself known with flavors of earthy grain that linger in the background. Bready malt sweetness is balanced by tart lemon flavors. The combination of malt/wheat and lemon is more harmonious than I was expecting. Non-hoppy citrus notes are dominant, making actual hops difficult to detect. The lemon makes a fine substitute, however. The base beer is fairly bland and tough to pick apart past the lemon. I'm mainly getting bready malts and a bit of wheat, and not much else.

M - Clean, crisp, and refreshing. Drinks as much like a lemonade as it does a beer.

O - I haven't been very fond of Leinie products in the past, but this one was actually pretty decent. The base beer seems very one-dimensional, but the addition of lemon makes it a bit more interesting. I love lemonade on a hot South Texas day almost as much as I love a cold beer, and this is a good marriage of the two.

Poured from a 12-ounce bottle into a Sam Adams pint glass.

A: Bright, pale, hazy yellow with a two-finger head of sudsy carbonation which fizzled slowly and left hardly any lacing on the glass.

S: Like a tart lemon zinger, this brew has acidity and metallic hops on the nose. Very light and fruity.

T: Sugary sweet and tart from the get-go, this brew has heartburn written all over it. Lactic, acidic lemon sweetness builds through to a watery, tart and mildly bitter finish.

M: Light bodied and refreshing with some puckering lemon tartness and a slight acidic burn.

O: With a modest 4.2% ABV and bright lemonade flavors, this is a decent heat killer. However, I honestly might have to take a Pepcid or Tums before, during and after, because right now, there's acid churning around my stomach. The hotter the better for this one.

Very pale yellow color, mostly clear.. a little bit cloudy. Soapy white head with little retention.

Smells very good. A lot of lemon, almost smells flatly like lemonade.

Tastes alright. Reminds me more of a soft drink than a beer, really. It's crisp and very lemony, not sour like lemonade and not too sugary. Has an apparent beer aftertaste.

Mouthfeel is a bit weak, very watery but also very refreshing. Not terrible.

This beer is not terrible. It is definitely a refreshing summer beer and I wouldn't mind drinking a 6-pack. I recommend it as a compliment to a cook out or to cool down after a hot day. Would pair well with any finger food.

A- Has a very cloudy, pale, yellow color with a foamy head to it.

S- Strong smell of lemons and wheat.

T- When they say brewed with lemonade Leinenkugels means it. Strong lemon start with a wheat beer finish, very enjoyable.

M- Smooth and quite refreshing actually a nice thirst quencher.

O- Easily drinkable, great taste, wish it was available year round. Perfect beer for summer. I've had it tap, bottle, and can equally enjoyable each time.

Beer poured from bottle into a Tulip shaped glass

A - Beer poured with a two finger white colored head; looks great; held well; beer body was opaque and had a hazy yellow color to it; some lacing formed but didn't stick very long; well carbonated

S - Strong lemon scents, reminds me a bit of lemonade; not much of a malt scent; can't really get a sense of what else there is in there; very sugary and sweet; fruit; citrus

T - Rinse and soapy lemon taste; not much malt flavor to it; sugary leftover, taste more like a Crystal Light lemonade than a beer; not very impressed with this, could use a better balance of malt flavors

M - Creamy mouth feel; not much bitterness, which is fine in some cases, but since it's made with hops, I would expect some pine, grass or hop notes; lingering sour lemon taste, fads very quickly; effervescent tongue feel

D - Overall, would make a good summer drink; not something I would more than one of, the sour and sugary lemon taste is a little too much

A- Pours the palest, cloudiest I've seen a beer. Ample foamy head that laces pretty nicely even though it doesn't stick around long.

S- Probably the strongest part of this pour. Makes me think "candy beer." I'm not sure what that means, but that's what hit me first.

T- Right off the bat, I thought I would love this beer. Sweet initial taste, but then it kind of goes south. It has the same wheat taste that Leinie's Honey Weiss and Sunset Wheat have, except it doesn't mesh well with the lemon to me. Still, not a terrible taste for a light summer brew, just not my taste.

M- Light as they come. You could pound these for a good while and barely notice.

O- Probably not going to seek this one out often. It could be great after a long, hot day of yard work, but not many other times than that.

A: Pours a hazy deep yellow color with a small white foam head. There is some lacing left behind.

S: Was quite clean on the nose. Ample amounts of vibrant lemon zest, oranges, limes, wheat and white bread.

T: A step below the smell, but starts off with a tart lemon taste. In the middle there is some more lemon, but the white bread, wheat and oranges come through. On the back end the lemonade taste comes back to the forefront.

M: Very clean and refreshing. Leaves a tart lemon taste on the palate. Could use a little more carbonation.

O: I was a little surprised by this brew. A 'lemonade' beer is not something I normally would drink but found this quite refreshing. Not sure how many I could have in a sitting, but on a hot humid day doing yard work, this would be a good choice.
