What can I say? I'm a sucker for a good summer beer. When it is as hot as it is in Central Texas, you take advantage of these! This is a fun beer in a lot of ways - lots of citrus mixed in, so it's basically a beer-lemonade mix. I enjoyed it.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 8/31/2015. Pours hazy bright golden yellow color with a 1-2 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of lemonade, lemon peel, wheat, cracker, light honey, herbal, grass, and light pepper. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of lemonade, pale malt, and light earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of lemonade, lemon peel, wheat, cracker, light honey, herbal, grass, and light pepper. Minimal herbal/spicy bitterness and light fruit tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemonade, lemon peel, wheat, cracker, light honey, light herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Good balance and robustness of lemonade, pale malt, and light earthy hop flavors; with a good malt/bitterness/tartness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness after the finish. Medium carbonation and light-medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 4.2%. Overall this is a nice lemonade shandy style. All around good balance and robustness of lemonade, pale malt, and light earthy hop flavors; and very smooth, crisp, and clean to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Poured a murky golden hue with a bit of head that quickly dissipated. Smelled of artificial lemon. Taste was artificial as well but surprisingly not bad and refreshing. Overall this is decent and I always have to get a six pack every summer for nostalgia's sake.

Poured from a 16 oz can into a glass. 3/4 head. Then 1/2 head then 1/4 head, then none. Hazy yellow color. Beautiful aroma, lemonade, lemon pledge. Taste is 1% hops, 1% malt. 98% lenonade. While not a very "beery" beer it has enough flavor to pass as one. Very lemonady, like an Arnold Palmer minus the tea amd plus beer. Overall not bad. Very refreshing. A gpod beer for sitting outside on a hot summer day.

12oz bottle, another mixed-sixer selection from some grocery store or another in Sandpoint, Idaho a few weeks ago.

This beer pours a cloudy, pale golden straw colour, with two fingers of puffy, finely foamy, and generally fizzy off-white head, which leaves some stringy island chain lace around the glass as it quickly blows off.

It smells like lemon jello right off the bat, as if my mom's lemon meringue pie were sitting right in front of me once again, with a tame grainy wheatiness, subtle earthy honey, and an ethereal musty bitterness. The taste is grainy, lightly crackery wheat malt, a lessened lemon soda fruitiness, some mildly spicy yeast, well-faded honeycomb cereal notes, and a still lurking, but not quite showing its hand earthy (hops, maybe?) bitterness.

The carbonation is fairly crisp and thorough in its fizzy and frothy ventures, the body medium-light in weight, and sort of smooth, the somewhat tart lemon leftovers and the edgy grain kind of messing about here. It finishes off-dry, but not by much, the malt starting to seriously peter out, and the fruity lemon putting down roots in its dotage.

Overall, not a bad lemon-flavoured wheat ale, the shandy denomination perhaps a bit overblown, as this is not exactly a simply split mixing of beer and juice. Easy enough to put back, and refreshing, to a point, the one where the various shades of lemon begin to outstay their welcome.

looks.... interesting. smells like concentrated lemonade thats been watered down with cheap beer. eww to sweet almost cloyingly so. tastes a little too artificial for me. I'm not a hater on Leinies in general but i would rather buy my own coors light and mix it with sprite for less money.

This is a great beer if you just want to toss back a few and not dwell on the beer itself too much. It's crisp, it's lemon-y, and it doesn't hurt your wallet too bad. This is like the best case scenario when you visit someone who is only into macro brews and they have a 12 of this in their fridge. It kicks the heck out any kind of bud light ilk but certainly isn't anything spectacular. It's a solid 3 from me.

it looks just like the soda ''squirt''. a pretty good cross between lemonade and beer. a good summertime beer but i wouldn't drink more than a few of these.

The beer pours a nice white head that dissipates quickly. The beer itself is a cloudy lemon yellow. Looks like a pretty good shandy.

The beer smell is a bit unfortunate. It has a strong lemon note that resembles more of the candy lemon than actual lemon. Wile it isn't actually bad for the first few sips, it can get distracting after a while. The honey notes save the smell and are a nice contrast to the lemon.

The taste has the same notes as the smell. A candy lemon taste that is saved by the honey. The lemon is a bit too strong in this brew and hurts it a bit.

The feel is unfortunately not as refreshing as expected. The beer leaves a sticky feeling instead of refreshed one The carbonation does some good but the end doesn't do it for me.

Overall, an okay shandy and one that you can probably feel okay about skipping. That being said, just stick to the Grapefruit Shandy, which is much better.

After hearing friends for 2 years talk about this beer I finally tried it. I am rather upset that I didn't try this sooner. The taste of the beer hits the spot on hot summer days. I never drank anything other then Miller or Coors but have ventured into other brands. This is so far the best that I have tried.

Never been a fan of any beer that's been kitchenized or yuppified in any way. As I get older and more open minded, I've been going out of my usual amber lager affinity and trying different things. Never thought in a million years I would enjoy anything like this but I really enjoy it. Perfect on ice sitting on the porch on a hot afternoon, or relaxing on the deck with the pork shoulder in the smoker. Light, refreshing citrus that goes down smooth and is very pleasing on the palate. Very mildly tart but not bitter, and not too sweet. I'd still rather have a Lynchburg Lemonade but this is a fantastic alternative to the high alcohol, heavy beers I usually stick with.

Got in a pint can, poured into a glass.

Look: Orange juice.
Smell: Kinda macro-ish, actually.
Taste: Lager-ish up front, but with a weird lemony aftertaste. Not a fan.

I guess I don't like Shandies. I tried Shock Top's and this one, and neither one appeals to me.

This beer is truly atrocious. It pours a watery yellow with a quickly diminishing head. The smell is of skunkerific. The taste is stale and vomitish. Very thin body. Over all... please pass a Keystone Light.

Juicy, light, inoffensive. Tasty and uncomplicated. I always give some extra points to a beer that suits outside activities so well. In this case, a Fourth of July concert and fireworks. Cheers!

Ok so as a beer that wants to be a fruity beer it fails, but it doesn't taste like its advertised. The taste isnt actually bad, just not what you would expect given the packaging. Feels good going down, and I wouldn't rate the taste so low if I wasn't shocked by how different it was. Overall I wouldn't recommend this to someone looking for a fruity beer.

Too sweet and the lemon is artificial. I'm not a huge fan of radlers but this one is pretty meh. Very soapy in the flavor, not digging it. Not sure why americans suck at making radlers...

Drank from a 12 fl. oz. (0.355 L) can
Jun 0115
Served in a pint glass
Thanks to my dad for hooking me up with a bunch of the beers from Leinenkugel's Shandy Sampler Beer Variety Pack.

Super cloudy, pale straw yellow appearance. The beer was topped by an inch-tall crown that quickly quickly dropped to a thin ringlet.

The aroma was very lemony and pleasant, albeit rather one-dimensional. Fresh squeezed lemonade dominated. The lemon was very authentic and not at all artificial. Touch of crisp wheatiness. Moderately sweet. Bit of lemon rind as well.

The flavor profile was similar to the nose but perhaps less sweet. Lemon notes dominated. Somewhat lemonade-like but with only a hint of sugar. Lots of bitter lemon peel. Wheaty and tart. The beer finished even more bitter with copious amounts of lemon rind. A hint of earthy hops appeared after the swallow.

Solid mouthfeel. Medium bodied for the style. The liquid contained a crisp, sprightly effervescence. Smooth, fluffy and pillowy soft on the palate.

Call me a sucker for easy drinking, fruit-infused beers, because I think this one is incredibly tasty and enjoyable (and not too sweet, especially considering the style). As far as shandies go, this one is hard to beat.

This unfiltered wheat ale, brewed with honey and "natural lemonade flavor", is an attractive beer: its cloudy, pale-straw-colored body could be mistaken for lemonade, except for the giant creamy white head and thick swoops of lacing. Tart, mouth-watering lemonade completely dominates the nose; these citrus notes are the focus on the palate as well, but are less insistent, leaving some room for a nice light wheat backbone to show through. The finish is balanced, with a moderate citrus tartness that lingers awhile. The crisp citrus flavors, light creamy wheat body, lively carbonation and low ABV combine to make this an ace summertime lawn-mowing beer.

Poured from 12 oz bottle into pilsner glass.

Appearance: pours a 2"+ white pillowy head that drops at a moderate rate leaving faint lacing. Very cloudy yellow color (pretty much like lemonade).

Aroma: strong lemonade aroma with a bready malt backbone.

Mouthfeel: very light and watery with a dry finish.

Flavor: lemon, light barley sweetness maybe a hint of hops in the finish.

Overall: decent for what it is. I would think that Fresca or Mt. Dew fans would enjoy this beer.

Although it's an artificially flavored lemon, it is much better than the shock top shandy and all the rest of the shandys that are artificially flavored.

The more I drink it, the more I like it. The sweet lemon is refreshing but doesn't put me in the mind of toilet bowl cleaners. A good mix of lemonade and wheat beer.

Obviously it's lemony. Perfect for a hot day - my reward after mowing the lawn! only complaint is the lemon flavor is a little chemically on the palette. Tastes a little like lemon "pledge" smells.
Avoid cans - bottle is noticeably better

This one is ok. I don't think it's as bad as others say. It is probably a little too sweet, but I think that's just the style. It tastes a lot like Beer-Minade. It's not a traditional beer, but it's still nice for a hot summer day.

Pretty decent shandy - used to like this way more than I do now. Maybe because I'm more into pale ales and IPAs now. If you're looking for refreshment though this is a solid one to pick up.
