Leinenkugel's Fireside Nut Brown somehow found its way into my fridge, so here I sit with during the NFL playoffs. The body is yellow-brown and very clear. There is only a little bit of head, and it disappears quickly without leaving a head.
The aroma has loads of caramel sweetness, some dry chocolate and some nutty aromas. There might be a little bit of smoke as well.
The flavor is a little short and watery, but what is there is actually pretty good. Something I mostly missed in the aroma is a pretty good smokey flavor, which makes sense based on the name of this beer. Smoke is the main flavor, with a campfire flavor too it, and not so much roasted meat. The malt base is pretty bland and even has a touch of corn to it, but it also comes with caramel, powdered dark chocolate and some nuttiness. The finish is short with a lot of sweetness.
Very light body with fairly light carbonation.
