Poured from a 12oz bottle into my Northern Brewer glass.
A: Really more amber than brown, with a bit of reddish tinge to it. Head is off white, and fades quickly to a thin film.
S: A bit of roasted malt, but it really smells more of smoke than anything else. Not really what I was expecting for a warmer, or a brown, for that matter.
T: Fairly similar to smell, with some caramel sweetness at the front that then gets overshadowed by a smoky, roasty overtone. There is a bit of a hazelnut note buried in there, but it's not enough to save this beer. No discernible spices, and only the faintest suggestion of hops at the close. As it overwhelms the palate, it becomes more drinkable.
M: Lightly carbonated and rather thin. Yes, it's not a terribly large beer, but for something that's intended as a winter brew, I'd really like to see some more body.
D: While I certainly could drink several, I have no desire to. This is unimpressive.
Not sure whether this is trying to be a winter warmer, or a brown ale, but it really fails at both. At least my wife likes it and will drink the three bottles I have left.

I mistakenly bought a 12-pack of this beer before it was rightfully retired. The taste was horrendous, with an upfront unnatural nuttiness to it. The mouthfeel was of a metallic nature, and it was overly carbonated. Everything about this beer screams artificial.
I could not sell the remaining 10 beers for $5, after letting my four roommates try this. This is one of the only drain-pour worthy beers I've encountered, and will retire in the hall of fame of terrible beers.
