Poured from 12 oz. bottle into a Sam Adams perfect pint glass. Date on bottle says January 23, 2012.
Appearance: Pours a brownish amber orange with lots of rising bubbles. Big five finger off white head with good retention. Lacing is light.
Smell: Bready and slightly roasted caramel and toffee malts. Wheat grains. A good presence of nuts throughout. Some hints of grassy hops in the background. Fairly sweet and roasty.
Taste: Sweet and bready caramel and toffee malts that are lightly roasted. A pretty good taste of roasted nuts throughout. Light hints of chocolate, coffee, and grassy hops. Tasty.
Mouthfeel: Light bodied. Way too thin for this style. Carbonation is also on the higher side. Crisp and smooth.
Overall: A nice tasting roasty brown. The body is way to thin for a winter beer of this style.
