From a 12 oz. bottle stamped "FEB0711" into a pint glass. Clear, red cranberry color with thin brown-tan head that has surprisingly good retention. Good lacing. Lively carbonation keeps the head intact all the way to the bottom. Nice looking brew. Nose of bready, toasted malt and hints of diacetyl. Mouth is similar with bready, buttery backbone along with faint but present peanuts, light coffee-like bitter, and a somewhat nondescript finish. Smooth and crisp in the mouth with light carbonation, fairly average mouthfeel. Drinkability is decent; I could enjoy a few of these but flavor is somewhat lackluster so I wouldn't be very inclined to do so.
Overall: A just-OK nut brown ale. I don't expect a lot from the style, but I've had much better. Another check-box on my list as far as I'm concerned.
