The Leinenkugel's Fireside Nut Brown pours a deep reddish brown with an off-white head. The carbonation is fairly vibrant.
The aroma is malty with a definite maple syrup note. Strangely, the maple aroma is absent from the flavor. The taste is slightly sweet and nutty with a very faint hoppiness. The mouthfeel is quite light bordering on watery.
I'm always happy to try out a seasonal brew even if it is from a brewery that isn't considered one of the best. In this case, the beer is very much like the brewery, good, bordering on average, but not memorable.
