Classic Amber comes out of the bottle a lightly burnt-orange color akin to the label on the bottle. A fizzy white head makes a lot of noise, then disappears before you know what happened to it.
At first whiff I caught the fruitiness of green apples; the second time around I definitely was picking up more toasted barley, as well as wheat bread, walnuts, and a certain skunkiness I couldn't quite define.
I have to mention the mouthfeel, because I've been assaulted with fizziness. This is just tiptoeing the edge of painful.
The taste starts with a subtle red apple sweetness. No hops to speak of in either smell or taste. In fact, little malts to speak of either. Sort of like drinking a watered-down sparkling apple cider, except with a dry finish.
Not bad, per se--just not in any way memorable.
