Poured from a chilled bottle into a pint glass, it pours a chestnut color with a bit of cream-colored head that forms and quickly dissipates to a edge layer. Not very impressive for a bock.
Slight spice hits my nose to a bit of surprise. A bit of caramel malt also hits my nose followed by some florals.
Sipping reveals a shot of brown slightly burnt malt flavors. Maybe a tad bit of coriander also come through along with a very "bready" finish (fairly bitter).
Sharp carbonation first slams the tip of my tongue making it tingle taking away from the flavor a bit. A bit watery if you ask me on the finish. Nothing great.
Not a "great" bock in my opinion, but easy to drink. It's a good spring brew that is easy to drink on one of those crisp early-spring evenings while sitting on the deck, which I'm currently doing.
