12-oz bottle poured into Samuel Smith "Tulip" pint glass
A - semi-transparent dark brown/amber with ruby highlights when backlit; 2-finger khaki-colored head leaves decent lacing
S - pine, apple, hops
T - following the smell, a tangy/piney bitterness dominates the flavor
M - unexpectedly light-bodied with high carbonation; certainly thinner than it looks
O - 1888 is an ok beer, but it could be less watery and the flavor could be more balanced. Not the best bock on the market.
