Smells of malts with a bit of caramel. Tastes just like an average malt and grain taste. For the first couple sips, I could taste (or maybe I just imagined) the faintest toasted hints of an Octoberfest style, but it never really goes anywhere. Finishes thin and watery, nothing special. Kind of disappointing. I would like to see a bit more kick and flavor for this - it's barely distinguishable from a Budweiser.
Edit - the first one of these I had alone, and I wasn't particularly impressed. The last one I had outside at a ballgame with a brat, and I felt much better about it. Granted, it's not a particularly impressive Oktoberfest and I think Leinies can do better, but it is better than a Budweiser.
