Pours a brilliant light amber color with a one inch ecru head that dissipates in big bubbled, leaving moderate lacing.
Aroma is fairly grainy, with caramel malt sweetness and buttery, nutty, toffee tones adding complexity. There's a bit of alcohol evident.
Flavor is predominantly nutty initially, becoming slightly fruity/estery, and ending with herbal, tea-like hops. Grain forms the backbone, with toasted, bready malt and a hint of caramel sweetness taking a backseat.
Body is on the light side, with fairly high carbonation. There's a bit of grain astringency and alcohol warmth.
Overall, a malt-forward brew with some slight flaws that add more flavor than the malt characteristics. Drinkable, but not a favorite.
