Leinenkugel's - Oktoberfest
Brewed in Chippewa Falls, WI. It's the darker red flavor that I like, but the taste seemed off somehow - sweeter than it should be. I'm terrible at trying to describe tastes, but this definately had a hint of honey. That's not bad, but it struck as a bit odd as Oktoberfest beers don't really seem sweet to me.
I had to google the ABV as it's not even evident on the company website. Maybe they're trying to hide that it's only 5.1% ABV? I liked it, but it seemed similar to the Sam Adams in that they wanted a similar syle, but were too afraid to go full out on the flavor - and then they sweetened it.
I like the beer, it's very refreshing, clean and clear - just missing something. Date on the side of the bottle says NOV1912 which I'm assuming is a "consume by" date, but I'm left guessing when it was acutally bottled. I just noticed it was actually a twist-off top too - *sigh*.
