Clear mahogany, good initial head, very nice retention, a bit of lacing.
Very malty smell, toffee, caramel, a hint of dark fruit/spices.
Lots of malt, caramel, and a fig/dark fruit note. When cold, a smokey/musty aftertaste lingers, but this disappeared entirely as it sat awhile. A bit of vanilla and spice in there, with a subtle dark fruit booziness to the finish that works well with the sweetness.
Mouthfeel is quite smooth, seems perfect.
Leine's please: more big eddy.

Pours a dark brown color. No head, lacing, or retention. Smells of alcohol, sweet malt, hint of roasted malt, and slight syrup. Fits the style of a Scotch Ale / Wee Heavy. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of alcohol, sweet malt, roasted malt, hint of oatmeal, and slight syrup. Overall, very weak appearance, good body, and decent aroma.

Mud cola brown with a tiny ring of cream foam. Not attractive.
Strong concentrated grain stew, dark caramel maltiness, oak, burnt sugars, some roast bitterness, vinous notes, and a faint whiff of sweet mossy smoke. Phenolic and a little fruity. Notes of rum raisin, black strap, and date.
Sweet malt, dark sugar, peat, treacle, wet smoke, date sugar, light maple, medicinal notes, and faint crabapple tartness. The latter note plays into that oaky vinous note. Tinge of tartness is, actually, relieving. Tasty thick malty middle with a semi-tarnished unripe cherry finish.
A little stinging, but it's the tartness, not the booze. Alcohol level is right, wee heavy. I like this warmth. The carbonation is slighted, however. The body is okay, but some more effervescence would really elevate the overall mouthfeel.
Best Leinenkugels beer I've had, to-date.
