Leinenkugel’s Big Eddy Wee Heavy Scotch Ale has a medium, cream-colored head, a red-brown appearance, and no lacing left behind. The aroma is rich- dark cherries, some wood, strong barley malt, sweet, brown bread crust, and raisin. Taste is of all those, with smoked wood, cherry skin, raisin, and brandy wine, with a slight bitter undertaste. Mouthfeel is pretty much heavy and slick, and Leinenkugel’s Big Eddy Wee Heavy Scotch Ale finishes semi-wet, rich, chewy, and delicious to the hilt. Overall, this is outstanding.

12 FL. OZ. bottle
Served in a teku glass
2012

A - It is copper colored with amber highlights. It had a fleeting inch of tan head.

S - The smell is toffee and caramel. It smells like a malt bomb.

T - The taste is sweet. I taste some caramel and toffee. The alcohol is hidden. There are no hops to speak of.

M - Moderate. It is a little thinner than I would like.

O - This is a flavorful beer with the flavors being sweet and malty. This is a decent beer. It is a tad sweet for me though.

2013 vintage.

Pours an almost opaque dark crimson-brown with a foamy khaki head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. No lacing on the drink down. Smell is of malt, brown sugar, molasses, caramel, toffee, and slight smoke aromas. There is also a slight funk smell that I am getting as the beer warms up. Taste is much the same with smoke and band-aid flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of smoke bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with a smell that is quite sweet and sugary but it doesn't really show in the taste.

A - rich dark milk chocolate high clairity, dark khaki pants thick but small head.

S - bitter chocolate and fig, chewing tobacco. Maybe magnolia

T - abv fusil aftertaste that turns into rich chocolate. Like medicine. Hints of oats and leather. Complex but not forgiving. It does not hold back.

M - decent. Some fusil burn but fine for the style.

D - not for the faint of palate. But enjoyable.

A- Pours a dark caramel brown and when held up to the light gives off a reddish hue. Head retention didnt hold very well.
S- Very sweet almost like dark candied fruits, also gives off a watered down scotch profile.
T- Dark fruits with a sweet malt background and a hint of scotch.
M- Lightly carbonated, coats the mouth well and is very satisfying.
O- very enjoyable. havent had many of this style so cant wait to expand.
