Best by March 14, 2013.
Appearance: pours an almost black amber with a bit of beige head. The froth doesn't hold on long, and the lacing is about average... a few suds hang on, but it isn't like there are globules stuck all down the glass.
Smell: Vanilla and very faint coffee.
Taste: Vanilla is the most pronounced flavor here, with malts and an extremely faint tinge of coffee.
Mouthfeel: A little thinner than I like my porters, but okay. There's a slightly creamy feel there, and it lends itself well to the vanilla theme. There's a slightly oily finish I could do without.
Overall: I wouldn't buy this. If it's free or cheap on tap somewhere and you want a porter, go for it. An average at best beer.
