Clear yellow colored beer with a small white colored head.

Smells mildly of noble hops and not much else. Slightly sweet smelling.

Starts out mildly sweet with a little scorched sugar taste. Stays sweet with no real bitterness. And that's it.

Mouthfeel is OK.

Overall, not a great beer but it is drinkable.

On draft. Hazy yellow color. Not a good flavor or aroma, a bit stale tasting.

Sweet with a little spice. Light body and good carb. More flavorful than an American lager for after mowing.

Love the taste, love the name, nice hops balance and a food refreshing feel (especially when you get off the river!)

Very average nothing remarkable here. It has a creamy head and body which is nice, though.

12oz bottle
A - pale yellow colored body with a creamy white head that holds decent retention
S - pale malt, faint spicy rye, yeast, grass, slightly light struck
T - grass, pale malt, wheat, lemon zest, a bit of spiciness and earthiness from the rye
M - thin body, moderate carbonation, odd finish: artificial lemon cleaner and earth. Rye provides a dry finish.
O - usually I like beer with rye in it; I also like kölsch, but this was a disappointment. Not far from a pale light lager with lemon zest in a way. I'd avoid this one.

Appearance - Pours crystal clear and bright yellow in color with a white, finger width head. Sub-par retention that fizzes away to reveal a mostly barren surface and a razor thin ring around the edge of the glass.

Smell- Big grain and bready malts on the aroma. Light spice.

Taste - Light, bready malt flavor upfront and a decent spice bite in the finish.

Mouthfeel - Near watery body with light, bitey carbonation. Goes down easy enough.

Overall - There's nothing offensive about this brew, but it basically lacks any kind of interesting flavor character. Bland comes to mind. I don't mind drinking it, but I would never buy it again.

Next door neighbor cooked some kabobs on Saturday afternoon and gave me a glass of some heavy IPA. Then he gave me something else that had the consistency of cough syrup. So when he said he wanted to cook a pizza on the grill (wtf?) on Sunday, I told him that I'd provide the beer. I went to the store looking for something light, more fitting for a hot summer afternoon. Almost anything from Leinenkugel's is perfect for this occasion.

This is a smooth, easy beer perfect for when you're grilling on a hot Sunday afternoon in the summer. It's got a beautiful orange tinted color and a smell reminiscent of witbier. It's not heavy. In fact, it's very light. It's got a great taste not much different than Leinenkugel's Sunset Wheat.

They call this a Kolsch but it tastes like a good American Lager to me. It is similar to PBR or Schlitz, which to me isn't a bad thing except for the price. Taste's good except it's over priced.

This is my favorite beer from the Leinenkugel Brewing Co. This kölsch-style beer is perfect on a warm summer day grilling out with friends and family. Extremely drinkable and one could definitely make this a session beer.

Very refreshing, a great beer for a warm sunny day. Not sure about this being a kolsch though, it tasted like Dos Equis to me.

Pours a golden color with some lingering head and a bit of lacing.

Smells of apples and corn.

The taste is quite well balanced hop to malt. Tastes like a very good adjunct lager more than a kolsch. Aftertaste is pretty limited (aiding in the very good drinkability) but a film is left in the mouth. Definitely not the most dry kolsch out there.

Overall, a fantastic adjunct lager, due to the obvious presence of corn. Not very good for the style though. Superior drinkability, I would buy this again as a easy drinking summer beer.

Clear straw color. Effervescent. Light-bodied but the malt backbone still pokes through. Tastes like some adjuncts were part of the mix.

This beer reminds me of apple juice (not the sweetness, though, thankfully). Golden in color, with thin, fine, dissipating white head. Apples on the nose are stronger than the malt/adjunct, but not so strong as you'd find in a cider. Apples on the palate are even stronger, but more balanced with graininess than in the aromas. Very subdued hoppiness. Very light pencil shaving and herbal notes in the linger/finish (possibly from the rye and/or the hops), along with more apple. More highly carbonated than it looks, but not too bubbly going down. Medium bodied and crisp.

I have to say that I agree with the other reviewer who said that people are underrating this brew and not appreciating it for the style, but not with the absurdly high rating that they ended up giving it. When I rate a beer, I do take style into consideration, yes, but I also look at it as a stand-alone beverage, comparing it to ALL other beers, within the style or not. To rate a beer ONLY within its style, is, for example, to imply that the best Malt Liquor deserves just as high of a rating as the best Imperial Black Ale. It just doesn't work. The fact is, not only within styles, are some beers better than other beers (admittedly it is still subjective to the individual's tastes), but also within the overall category of beer, are some styles better than other styles.

Canoe paddler pours a straw color with a big creamy head. There is a skunky aroma. The taste is a bit skunky, strange sweetness, but a nice crisp and creamy malty aftertaste. A bit fizzy. Overall bad upfront flavors, taste cheap, but finishes nice.

Great beer for the style. good flavor and a decent color. Great everyday beer for working in the yard or dropping a line in the water.
