Poured from a 12oz bottle into a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a light yellow color, with a thin white head that fades quickly and leaves a thin lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains light caramelized malts, grain and a very faint touch of hops.

T: The taste starts out with mildly bready flavors of grain and a thin malt character. Then some mild sweetness comes in. The hops presence is very mild but brings some balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet.

M: Crisp and a little smooth, light-to-medium body, medium carbonation, finish is clean.

O: Not very flavorful, goes down ok, not too filling, mild kick, not the best representation of style, there are several beers in the style that are better than this one.

I picked this up in a mix-a-six from Giant Beer Garden & Eatery. Enjoyed chilled from a snifter with carlos.

The color is golden with light chill haze and small white cap with average bead and no lace to speak of is left. The smell has an adjunct-like with a sweet corn type aroma and subtle yeast ester. The feel is okay with creamy light sweetness and mild bitterness with semi-dry finish and slightly high carbonation with a bit of diacetyl smoothness up front.

The taste is decent as it is generall lightly malty with some malt flavor the only thing I can say is the rye in the grist seems to get overwhelmed in the taste bu the adjunct flavor which is kind of dissapointing. Overall I would probably pass unless this was offered to me, since it is not bad, but not really worth buying a second time.

12oz bottle, purchased on a whim to fill out a mix-6. Being a native of northern Wisconsin, I can't resist trying a new Leinie's offering.

A: Pours a clear, greenish straw body under two fingers of fine white froth. Pretty good retention, light lace. Not bad.

S: The good: some toasty malt, herbal hops, and sweet fruitiness. The bad: lots of corn, a bit of butteriness. Not Kölsch-like in the least, but not terribly offensive either.

T: Follows the nose, with a little bit of spicy rye malt actually sneaking in midway through. The faint herbal hops are a welcome addition to the finish, but the too-sweet corniness and the buttered-toast nature of the malt make it less than fully appetizing. The aftertaste has a nice berry character, but it's too little too late.

M: Light-bodied (nigh watery) and highly carbonated, but the bubbles are fine enough to make it feel more creamy than fizzy. Pretty much exactly what this beer is going for.

O: Eh, I don't really enjoy it, but I think it's pretty much exactly what the brewers were aiming for: just enough flavor to be interesting to a curious newbie, with nothing offensive. Just what I was expecting.

Cheers!

Date tasted: May 26, 2013... Glassware: Ayinger willibecker... Occasion: two rooms painted in one day--that's progress... Appearance: straw yellow, bubbly effervescent body with an uneven creamy head... Aroma: punchy metallic hops--creamy rye? not really digging it--it's got a Lord Chesterfield funk to it... Palate: smooth,, light and refreshing--appropriate to its genre and probably weds well with an afternoon on a lawn tractor... Taste: oof--a rather nondescript flavor of fizziness slaps the tongue and throat; this almost tastes like every Leinenkugel's I've had minus whatever additive was on the label (apparently canoe paddles have no flavor themselves)... Overall: a refreshing rinser--not a lot of words to work on this one, and not much wonder to ponder as I watch the glass drain. It's partly a style thing, partly the brew's lack...

Pours to a permanent thin white head and moderate lacing. Color is pale gold. Aroma is pale grains and white grapes. Flavor is much the same with a noble hop flavor and bitterness to balance the scant sweetness that is present in this dry beer. Mouthfeel is light. Overall, not a bad brew, and yes, it passses my Kolsch test (vinous notes detected).
