Appearence: Poured an odd, reddish brown color. Not a normal stout color. Not the best looking at all.

Smell: Smelled of coffe and roasted nut notes, nothing more. Nothing special smelling at all.

Taste and Mouthfeel: Tase suprisingly complex based on the smell. A robust and powerful stout, with much more character than expected. A choclately, deep flavor that keeps you drinking much more. Way too much water in the mouth.

Drinkability and Overall: An intersting stout at best. Nothing special, but definitly nothing ordianary. Had no problem throwin a few of these down. A good beer indeed.

"Stone Mason Stout"

Pours an expected dark brown/blackish color with an off white head and pretty good display of lace. Aroma is full of roasted malts, with some vanilla and sweet grain for good measure. In the taste, trademark stout flavors of roasted malt, light coffee, vanilla, and a very light bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium bodied but a little thin, which does make it easily drinkable. Overall, I thought this was a slightly above average stout, that would certainly go great with a sausage and pepperoni pizza.

Had this on-tap and thought it was a nice stout beer. It had a nice appearance, although I, too, thought it was a little light for a stout. Very nice aroma, though, it had a deep and dark scent to it that I like in a stout. Went down smoothly with a decent taste, even if it was a bit blander than your typical stout. It would not be my first choice, but I would definitely have one or three of these with a pizza or burger from their restaurant.

A - drank in a dark corner of a restaurant so I couldn't see it perfectly. Quite dark with a short brown head.

S - toasted malts, almost meaty. Some sweet on the mix.

T - rosary rosary malts with chocolate. I would also say oaked, nut that might just be the smoke.

M - medium coating but only a hint of tingle.

D - easily drinkable, both as am all-nighter or with food.

Served in a 6oz taster glass at the Allison Park, PA location.

Appearance: Light-gobbling dark brown with a burnt carmel colored head.

Smell: Nice and complex aroma - roasted malt, smokey undertones, slight molasses and coffee.

Taste: More complexity - Roasty, smokey, brown sugar sweet in the background along with some tartness. A bit of a dry bitter finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium body, maybe a bit thinner than the taste suggests. A bit tart, but dry and good feel.

Drinkability: Although somewhat complex, this beer is still smooth and drinkable.
