Hit this place up on 12/4

Located right on the corner of Park and Encinal, this bar has a rustic neighborhood bar feel to it. We hit it up around 4pm on a Thursday. Dimly lit, there are large tables situated on the left hand side as you walk in. The right hand side has a nice long bar and a pool table in the back.
On tap they have roughly 30 beers, 8 are belgians and sours, the rest are a nice mix of locals such as Pliny, Blind Pig, Trumer's, Lost Coast Great White, Speakeasy Big Daddy.
Bartender was KICK ass - so a shout out to Sam! She was extremely knowledgeable about beer, spent time talking to you about beer and was totally making suggestions to a guy at the bar who was looking to expand his palate and knowledge of beer. Got in to a nice beer geekery discussion with Sam, and she actually offered up a taster of a beer that she had put on tap. For the life of me, I can't recall the name, but it was a sour I believe that was pretty damn tasty.
Not sure what this place is like at night, but on a late Thursday afternoon, I could see myself as a regular here.

A big fan of Lucky 13 on Market in SF, so wanted to try....similar local bar atmosphere but served beer (my first time to notice) in 14 oz cheater pints, with a finger and 1/2 of foam.... in the city, the bartenders make sure you get a full pint... not 10-12 oz's.... interesting to try out but won't go back....

Situated right on the corner of Park and Encinal, Lucky 13 is a welcome change from the nearby ho hum bars along Park st. Although a bit "divey" at cursory glance, it boasts ~20 brews on tap comprised mostly of microbrews (e.g Lagunitas, Bear Republic, Deschutes, Flying Dog), but with some German (Trumer, Spaten...etc), and Belgian (Chimay, Delirium Tremens sometimes) selections as well. The bottle selection is very good, with some harder to find Belgians (as far as bars in bottles are concerned), albeit not for so cheap. Decor is dark, retro, oddly quasi Goth, but minimal. One pool table and two old pinball machines are in the back of the building, and there is a smaller, covered sitting area out back where people smoke and chill. Food consists of... popcorn. Service at the bar is usually prompt even when it gets busy later on weekend nights. The atmosphere is loud, but unpretentious, with mostly an older crowd. It's somewhat of a "cougar" hangout. Cash only. Overall, a great place to stop for a beer or to drink several and hang.

I've always known this place as the Buckhorn, in fact when they renovated the whole unit some years ago they put a Buckhorn sign (never seen it illuminated) on the west side of the building. Kind of a cafe setting with a pool table, pin ball machines, fireplace in the back, and down the hallway past the restrooms there is an outdoor patio.

Lots of historic beer paraphenalia. The tables, chairs and bar are unique. The restroom has a communal urinal (not iced) and soap in a cup. The juke box may even be an antique.

The service is prompt and laid back.

Lots of micro and Belgian beer selections including chimay and some Canadian versions served in the appropriate glassware however no cask or handpump.

No food.

Reasonable
