Appearance: Golden yellow, proper foamy head, some lace left at side of a glass, tiny bubble come up from bottom.
Smell: Hoppy smell and malt are quite dominate, grassiness with hint of herb
Taste: Light to medium body, clean with pretty good carbonation, smooth and malty sweet at tongue, slightly bitterness at the end, very good balance between all flavor, mild acidic flavor is noted at finish.
Note: This well balance beer is far better if you drink on-tap and this draft thing is better Asahi than the super dry. You can enjoy this beer until you drunk.

Tried this one at the Asahi beer factory in Kanagawa, Japan.

Appearance - Bright golden color. On tap, it's very interesting to roll around in the glass and watch the tiny bubbles move like in a lava lamp. From the can, it acts pretty much like most other Japanese beers and produces a high head which dissipates quickly. However, it leaves nice lacing on the glass and if you do a good pour it can last a while.

Smell - Meh, it's got a sweet, malty aroma with slight hops.

Taste - I was pleasantly surprised with this one. It's got a nice balance of malt and hops with some rice in there. Leaves a nice aftertaste which makes you not want to stop sipping. The froth has a nice taste as well and magnifies the beer flavor.

Mouthfeel - Very creamy for a draft beer. I can savor this beer for a few seconds before swallowing it down.

Drinkability - Definitely a great one to put down from the tap and not so shabby from the can. However, you need to give the can a few swirls to release the carbonation to keep the good points of the beer going.

Definitely a nice one to try, especially if you have doubts about Asahi's brewing ability. I drank this beer exclusively for a couple months until it got old.

I was in need of a mood adjustment and opted for this giant 33oz can over the line up of usual suspects. I did not have high expectations as my only other Japanese beer has been Sapporo, which I hated. Pleasantly, Asahi is a whole new ballgame. The taste is uncommonly smooth. The can describes this brew as "super dry", a claim that I found to be true. For the style, the taste was very enjoyable overall, very crisp and clean with a subtle husky-bitter aftertaste. Great mood adjuster.

Appearance: Crisp clear golden color with a decent white head. This vanishes fairly quickly leaving a little lace around the glass.

Smell: Sweet with a spicy hop zing. Not a lot of aroma but enough to make it seem interesting.

Taste: Not complex by any means but it is well balanced. The malt and hops show through with sweet and spicy. Very drinkable.

A decent moutfeel on this one too. There is a nice amount of carbonation for the style. I would have this again.

12oz. aluminum can, can't handle 24 tonight. The can poured into a glass, surprising me with its hue. It's a deep golden, yet clear beer. Not much head, decent carbonation. Nice crisp malty, cereal smell, slight hop aroma.

The taste is quite crisp, and very clean, and quite full. Its a very pleasant working beer. I'll buy this again.

A-Dark straw yellow nice white head, doesn't retain itself for very long though

S-A little watery, hops, a little wheat, and malt

T-Hops, Rice, Citrus, It finishes sweet rather than bitter

M-Crisp, decent amount of carbonation, goes down quite smooth

D-Very drinkable, I think this is a type of beer to have a session with. I like it a lot better than say bud, even though it is a rice lager not an american

Medium-light yellow with a nice ring of head that leaves pretty decent amount of lacing.

Aroma is very sweet, slightly metallic. Not too bad.

Taste is surprisingly sweet, not really any hop backup to speak of. Tasted a little under-attenuated.

Well, like the label says, it is very dry. They got that right. However, it's so highly carbonated that it feels like the beer is breaking apart in your mouth. Forget trying to swirl this one or you'll end up with a mouthful of foam.

I imagine this going very well with a number of spicy dishes, but it's a tad too sweet on it's own for my taste.

Clear golden color with a 1" snow-white cap. The bubbles are attractive. Otherwise it's average.

You can use this to "clean your palate" in between sushi rolls and wasabi. Otherwise it is an unremarkable rice lager without any particularly prominent flavor.

I have this one on occasion, mostly when I am in NYC at a sushi eaterie. Not much to the flavour or aroma, thin and dry but there are virtually no off flavours. Does a good job washing down excess wasbi and cleaning the palate for the next roll.

Pours a straw yellow. Small white head on medium-aggressive pour. Thin layer of lace sits well, with good retention. Smell is of feint cooked white rice, with a bit of a tangy fresh malt odor. Cleanses the nasals. Taste is similar to the smell, flavor is crisp and clean. A good amount of tanginess on the palate. Borderline citrus, but never fully crosses over. Some semi-bitter hops at the start, lasting till the finish. Strong rice aftertaste which melds nicely with the hops. Not bad, not bad at all. Mouthfeel is crisp, and semi-coating. Drinkability is great.

A nice refreshing crisp Rice Beer that goes nice with food as well.

This poured a pale clear yellow with moderate white head. It smelled of lemon and yeast with some hops. It tasted like a pale Belgian ale, slightly lemony and yeasty with no malt. It was smooth and nicely thick with almost no carbonation, and had a light bitterness in the aftertaste. Overall it was interesting, but nothing special.

L: Pours a pale yellow color with a short and thin white colored head that leaves little lacing down the glass.
S: Smells of sweet rice, a lot like sake, and some pale malts and a tiny bit of hops at the end, but that could just be me wishing for some.
T: A sweet sake like rice flavor with a tiny bit of hops and malt mixed in.
M: Very light, crisp, sweet, right amount of carbonation.
D: Pretty drinkable as it didn't have much flavor at all and was nice and light.

The beer pours a dark yellow color with a nice even cap of foam floating above. The appearance is typical of an adjunct lager. The aroma is mainly bready. The flavor is light and clean save a few hints of husk. The adjunct emerges a little more as it warms. Nothing extraordinary here, but it would do well washing down Japanese fare.

I had a can of this on a shinkansen from Hiroshima to Shin-Osaka, looking for something interesting to try for the 1.5 hour trip. The station didn't have that wide a selection of beers and this was one I hadn't tried so...

The beer was kind of a middle-of-the-road loager by most measures. Clear golden color with a 1-2 finger head. Muted aroma with more malt than anything else (but little of that). The taste is OK, not anything objectionable in the flavor but not anything really tasty either. Not complex but I guess this hits the target that Asahi set for the beer.

Not to be tried again. Unless maybe it's the only beer at a restaurant in Japan.

Sampled in a 12 oz bottle.

Poured a clear yellow with a small, white head and no head retention.

I detected mild aromas of corn, sweet malt, and some grains.

The taste was very simple with flavors of malt and grain. There was nothing bad or good and definitely nothing surprising. Not a bad choice to have at a Japanese steak house if there are no micros available.

Color is a clear yellow with a medium foamy head with divets and leaves tiny patches of lace. Smells faintly of sweet malt grain and a hop, just barely. Taste is thinned out malt with a hint of sweetness and a super light hop. Mostly watered down and empty light to medium body with no hold or body. Not so good, not so bad either.

Went to Sakoru in South Windsor, CT tonight.
This beer poured a clear pale yellow, lots of carbonation, short head that dissapates quickly.
The scent was not all that impressive. Aroma and flavour is simple malt and grains. Not much in the way of hops. Crisp but light on the tongue. Good enough to go with a meal, but nothing special in and of itself. It goes down very easily - so to sit with a meal it works very well.

This beer had a pale golden piss color with a very frothy head. Plenty of lace left behind on glass. Many Many bubbles. The smell was very faint with a bready yeasty smell. The taste is very light and smooth, mellow if you will. Some what watered down. The mouth feel is smooth and slick in the mouth. It goes down smooth and fast, defiantely a chuggable beer.

Appearance: Pale yellow color, quite light. One finger of head which was fizzy not creamy, and gone in about a minute. Left no lacing.

Smell: Very light aroma of rice, not much else.

Taste: Typical adjunct flavor, most of what I get is rice. Just a touch of hops, little malt flavor.

Mouthfeel: Subtle would be kind. Not much body, finishes dry.

Drinkability: Easy to drink. Should go well with many kinds of food; no flavor to interfere with your appreciation of the food. On the other hand, there's not enough to entice me to drink more than this one. Ordinary, but not objectionable.

Had this on tap at Gyu-Kaku in downtown Vancouver, poured into a frosted pint glass (they only had frosted glasses).

Appearance: Pale gold with a narrow, yet creamy white head. Medium carbonation.

Smell: Very mild, did not pick up much, but to be fair I was in a busy restaurant surrounded by grilling meat. We had not started grilling at our table however.

Taste: Also very mild, hints of sweetness, hints of bitterness, hints of this or that, but no central flavour jumps out, besides a slightly stronger malty taste. It does work well for what it is however, and finishes nice, dry, and crisp.

Mouthfeel: Smooth and fresh, went well with the slightly heavy food it accompanied. A bit thin.

Overall: A serviceable beer, nothing spectacular, but it's a nice simple drink that goes well with grilled meats. It's fine for what it is, but I'm not going to be craving it any time soon.

Pours a mild Golden color with an active carbonation that produced no head.

It has the odor of heavily processed barley and rice. Very sweet smelling.

The flavor is surpisingly large. Imagine that one best component of any typical American macrobrew and intensify it by about 3x and you'll get Asahi. Still, the taste is quick and fades from your mouth as though you drank water.

This is a good beer if you are just looking for something light with dinner that you don't want to interfere with your food or to engage your tongue at all. If you're looking for a light palette cleanser other than water, this is not a bad choice.

Pours the a straw color with a white had that dissapates quickly, nice bubbles cascading upwards.

Smells like grains and some hops.

Upfront mild rice flavor with a nice dry hop bitterness. Finishes metallic, unpleasant.

Smooth drinking, assertive carbonation pairs well with sushi or grilled dishes.

Pretty common stuff. Clear pale yellow, lots of carbonation, short head that dissapates quickly.

Aroma and flavour is simple malt and grains. Not much in the way of hops. Crisp but light on the palate. Good enough to go with a meal, but nothing special in and of itself.

Simple and competent.

Having Sushi tonight so I decided to pick up a beer of the Orient to go along with it. 16 ounce brown bottle labeled "Super Dry". I dont know what that is supposed to mean so I'll look at it like a traditional lager. Let's see.
The color is clear straw yellow with a white fluffy head that disappears quickly. Big fish-eye like bubbles of carbonation are visable.
Aroma is so clean its barely there. Hints of light adjuncts are present. No hop aroma at all.
The body is thin and bubblly. The taste is clean. No flaws other than a ginger-ale like taste that fades quickly. Sweet lager with no specific charecters and then its gone. Overall its a clean lager that went well with my sushi. Its very drinkable, but there are better versions of the style out there.

I liked this beer more than I thought I would. It is a silver bottle, announcing "super dry", and so it is.

It pours like a lager, with some fizz and head, but nothing special. It settles into an amber colour, and sits well.

The taste and smell is that of a tried and true amber. Easy to drink and not too obtrusive. Only the hint of hops. But again it was easy to drink. Perhaps a good "session" beer for some.
