Look I know when a beer isn't all that great we rush to rate it bad all the way. I'm trying to do the beers justice in my ratings so if it looks the part it will get a good look rating ect... at the end I'll tell you weather or not I enjoyed the beer as this is how i feel it should be done.

Appearance - Poured from a 500ml can brewed in tokyo into a 16 oz pint glass. Pours a clear straw yellow with a decent amout of foamy white head. The head resides after a few minutes and doesnt even leave a film. Typical of the style.

Aroma - rice, light traces of floral hops. not much else going on here, Similar to budweiser tbh.

Taste - rice, spring water, light floral hops. again not much else. it should taste like rice though, considering the style.

Feel - Very light watery feel, mild carbonation on the tongue, very light bitterness on the end balancing the rice taste.

Overall - What we need to remeber here is this is not meant to be a craft beer, Its not even really meant to be a good beer, just like bud and molson or coors this is meant to be an easy drinking mass produced beer to give you a buzz on a warm day. A lawnmower beer so to speak and as such it hits its mark. I like the taste of this better than bud. So what I'll say to end this is if you want a really good craft beer or something complex this is not your beer. If you want a good clean alternative to budweiser. this hits the mark.

500ml can into pilsner glass. "G305" (canned jul 30 2015). consumed nov 25 2015

a: transparent pale yellow with as much white head as you want

s: almost non-existent aroma of sweet grains and a bit of hay

t: a bit of sweet, cheap rice and some kind of plastic, metallic off-flavour. at least these don't last for more than 3 seconds...

m: fizz water that doesn't finish "super dry" at all

o: not entirely repulsive but i won't bother with this beer ever again. i'll have a sapporo please

Not much one can say about this beer. Pale yellow color, no head. Very little aroma. Even less taste. Not much in the way of body either. Fizzy yellow watery beer, tried it on a whim as it was the only non-BMC at the Chinese restaurant. Should have just went with the water instead.

21.4 oz bottle at a Hitachi restaurant. Clear gold with carb bubbles that have a finger head. Minimal lacing. Mild smell. Very refreshing after a long day of moving. Cheers!

12oz bottle poured into a can glass

A- pours a crystal clear bright golden color with a small foamy white head that quickly reduces to just a ring around the edge

S- Not much of an aroma at all. Picking up faint grass, cooked rice, toasted grains

T- slightly sweet malt, grainy but not toasty, slight rice flavor, no hops to be found, super dry finish

M- light body with moderate biting carbonation leads to a foamy and a bone dry finish

O- there's not much to this beer, but it's certainly not off-putting like many of the AAL out there

I think this is around in the States, but found it in Shanghai and figured why not... for about 50 cents.
Pours a fizzy bubbly large head that fades pretty quickly, crystal clear watery tan color.

Nose rice mash, with mild toasty pilsner, unhappy lager yeast skunky notes, grassy hay, mineral notes. Pretty light.

Taste is more of the same, light toasty pilsner note, a rice like mash like a rice porridge, mild lager notes with a little unhappy touch of a skunky thing and plenty of minerality, finally some hops with a mild grassy light bitterness. Finish is dry, very dry like someone scraped my mouth, little more minerality lager thing, touch grassy hops and mild lingering skunky like taste.

Mouth is lighter bod, decent carb.

Overall eh, about what I expected, but super dry like cheap Champagne almost.

Had with sushi. Light golden color with a small white head with little lacing. Smell was a little skunky with a little malt. The taste was light malt with a dry bite on the finish. It worked with the sushi but I wouldn't order it in any other situation.

I mean, you could do a helluva lot worse. It's cold, it's watery, it's an appropriately innocuous accompaniment to some sushi. No discernible hop contribution. No weird graininess, though, which is a good thing. Didn't smell bad -- didn't really smell anything. I dunno...again, you could do worse.

Hands Down my Favorite Summertime Beer. It is clean and refreshing. I will reach for an Asahi Super Dry over any beer in the world. Osaka is where Asahi was Born, and no wonder, Osaka is where all the greatest Brews are made, including the Sake. I believe it has a Very crisp taste with a clean finish. After drinking six of them, I ponder why they made the "Golden Turd" so pronounced and why they located their Headquarters in Tokyo. I do find it has a slightly different taste in Japan than in the USA. For some reason everything brewed in Canada taste almost identical. Interesting.
Still better than Kirin because it is drastically smoother. Almost impossible to find it in cans in the USA.

Appearance: Clear yellow, big head.

Smell: Grainy, noble hops.

Taste: Mild sweetness, bit of fruitiness. Not particularly "dry" finish.

Overall: Beer #5 from my Shanghai trip, 500mL can. I've had Asahi plenty of times before, finally reviewing it. It has a decent flavor, definitely isn't too heavy, and goes well with a lot of Asian cuisines. Doesn't seem really "dry" in flavor or finish to me. Pretty decent.

I may be partial to this since I used to live in Japan but i find this beer although dry very tasteful. Everyone I've ever had try loved it. It's a little more Amber color with a light feel. I find the Japanese beers are quite good.

Poured into a pint glass from a bottle at a Japanese restaurant.

A - looks like a fizzy yellow macro, nothing special.

S - rice, cooked veggies, some spicy hops

T - metallic and tinny, like the inside of an aluminum can. This was from a bottle so I was shocked. Other than that it's a standard rice lager.

M - spritzy and wet, easy to drink in gulps

O - I like Sapporo more, it doesn't have a harsh metallic taste and comes in a cool can!

330 mL bottle (brewed in Canada) poured into a small water glass at Uchi Houston. Clear, pale yellow with modest white head, no lace. Forgettable aroma and light taste: traces of cereal and hop bitterness. Light body and crisp carbonation. A generic lager to wash down sushi or chase Social Hour sake, but not much more than that.

Beer advocate wouldn't let me rate this without a review today, despite the fact that it clearly says optional. It's smoothe, slightly sweet with wheat notes. Clean. Probably one of the better asian light beers.

330 ml bottle, served cold into a pint glass. Purchased for $2.30 CDN from the singles bin. Re-reviewing this beer that I had previously rated a 3 but think it's overstated and wanted to provide comments. Apparently a product of Thailand now.

Appearance - Pale clear golden color with a half inch of white head that does retain its shape for a while. Some lively bubbles. Not much lace though.

Smell - Some really light graininess, otherwise, nothing at all to speak of.

Taste - General graininess, but not the crackery goodness of a pilsner, that's for sure. I guess you can taste the rice in this but thin taste and feel. Decent lawnmower beer. Nothing else to speak of.

Mouthfeel- Good carbonation for the style, thin mouthfeel though.

Overall - Mediocre across the board. might go well with sushi.

When you drink this beer be sure to drink the one made in Japan, not the one made in Canada. There is a big difference in taste. The one made in Canada is really awful. You have to carefully read the can to see where it was brewed since both versions look the same.

Appearance: golden, clear; lots of bubbles streaming up the glass; soapy,
white head.

Aroma: a strong, stereotypical beer aroma; grainy; grassy.

Taste: grainy; grassy; dry; and a slightly hoppy finish.

Finish: semi-dry, crisp, refreshing.

Clear golden pour. Normal head volume, very poor retention and normal lacing.

Light nose of rice over a slightly off hay background that seemed old.

Light body with a texture similar to water. Normal carbonation with a bit of effervescence in the middle and a nice burst in the finish.

The flavor profile is a bit bland, but not bad. It begins with a blend of rice and mild hop flavor that flows into a slightly bitter middle. As the middle tails off, a nice dryness emerges over a slightly metallic hay like component. The finish is crisp and dry.

As with Asahi Black this too had an astringent taste. Lighter, thinner and for me lacking in substance or volume. Bitter. Did not enjoy and did not re-order. I am a saki lover both cold and hot, dry and sweet but with Japanese beers I am having a surprising taste problem. Would not recommend it either.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a pilsner glass. Pours with 2 fingers worth of a white foam head that very slowly dissipates to 1 fingers worth. Is a pale yellow color. A large amount of bubbles began to rise as it was poured and continued to rise. Has strong aromas of white rice and malts. Slight hop aromas are present along with a mild, unpleasant chemical aroma. Initial taste is starchy with white rice (love it), but is combined with a strange chemical taste. Strong malt flavors immediately follow along with slight hop flavors. Carbonation is just right to where it tickles the tongue, but doesn't burn the throat. Leaves the mouth pretty dry afterwards. This beer would be amazing if that chemical taste wasn't present and the malts were toned down a bit. Overall, a slightly below average beer. NOTE: The chemical taste becomes more apparent as the beer warms. Try not to let this one sit for too long.

Very light dry refreshing beer, crisp after taste but slightly chemically.
Poured out of the bottle the colour is very light and it pours very well creating a fabulous whirlpool of bubbles which stay for ages, but it doesn't taste over carbonated at all.

The taste is smooth and dry as the name suggests, works great with a stir fry.

Not in my favourite list, enjoyed it but wouldn't chose it again.

Out of Asian lagers I've had(Chang, tsingtao, tiger kingfisher, cobra...) I'd put this second :-) after kingfisher.

Asahi, as a fan of beer the first reaction to this would be disappointment. However as I drink Asahi as a sushi night exclusive I feel it does a great job. Light 5.0 with a crisp feel. I'll have it over the other Japanese rice lagers every time.

The beer is a clear, oily, dull pale butter color with a foamy white head that reduces to just a thin ring a leaves a light lace. The aroma is reminiscent of corn muffins with a bit of dough and grass, but they fade quickly leaving just a light, doughy funk. The taste is a medium sweetness with a light bitterness. It's texture is oily with a fizzy carbonation and a medium-light body. The flavor profile is mostly corn muffin with a crisp finish that has a hint of mild and clean, clove spiciness with a bit of a waxy muffin dough aftertaste. It's an easy drinking lager, but nothing to get excited about.

Nice aromatic lager, not bad but not great either, drinkable that´s it. Pours clear pale beer with a white foam head with medium retention. Taste is very dry and it makes it refreshing.
