Poured from a caged and corked 750 ml bottle at cellar temperature into a tulip glass. Pours a crystal clear medium amber with moderately heavy carbonation. The head forms as a dense two inch white cream-like foam that falls to about half an inch but follows the beer down the glass. Moderate lacing. The nose is of sour cherry and green apple. More sour cheery and apple on the tongue, with some funkiness and a very tart underpinning. A little oak is detectable in the finish, but it is nicely balanced. The beer is fairly light for its strength.
Overall, this is an excellent Belgian pale. The tartness is quite forward, but not out of balance.
