Appearance: Hazy yellow brown with a little suspended sediment. The head is off-white, moderate in size, and soon fades to a scattering of foam on the surface. The lacing is fine-beaded and glass-coating. The carbonation is slight and slow-rising.
Aroma: Lots of orange rind and bread-like wheat malt dominate the aroma. There is an understated presence of coriander as well.
Taste: Opens with a strong wheat malt presence, allied with orange rind and coriander. These flavors play out harmoniously throughout the taste, with none dominating the others. The wheat malt flavors gently rise towards the close, finishing with a slight bitterness.
Mouth feel: Smooth, soft, very pleasant.
Drinkability/notes: A fine example of a witbier, in which all of the traditional facets shine.
Presentation: Packaged in an eleven-point-two ounce Euro-style long neck bottle, with a pry-off crown, served in a New Belgium Brewing chalice.
Serving type: bottle
