Poured from draft in the breweries tall, thin frosted glass, the Witterkerke was a nice and cloudy, pale straw colored brew with a very thin white head, that dissipated fairly quickly to nothing.
Took a wiff, and whoa, not good! Totally sulfury like rotten eggs, yuk.
The initial taste is sour and tart and definately dominated by that sulfer oder. It then gains a bit of sweetness and finishes grassy, but without an aftertaste.
The body was light and pleasantly carbonated, but there was zero drinkability to this in my mind. Wild beers are one thing, but that sulfur bit was too much.
I'm not sure if this keg was bad, as I see my experience was different then all the reviewers of the bottled version. The Sharp Edge didn't think so, although they agreed it sucked and gave me another beer on the house. If I ever get around to trying this out of a bottle or on draft somewhere else, I'll revisit my review, but for now I'm basing it on that very unpleasant experience.

11.2-ounce bottle poured into a weizen glass.
Appearance: Pours a hazy yellow gold with some yeasty chunkiness floating below the head, which is considerable. The head is a big, frothy white that is about two fingers in depth. Carbonation seems more moderate than I expected. Lacing less than I expected.
Smell: This beer has some fairly forward aromas, including orange, citrus, lemon, clove, ginger and spices. Appealing.
Taste: Nice, fairly complex flavor profile that follows the nose. I'm also getting a slight sense of banana that might just be in my head. Citrus and clove are the most dominant flavors. There are also some breadiness and grassy notes in there.
Mouthfeel: It's refreshing and sessionable, as a witbier should be.
Overall: This is a very nice wheat beer that I'm glad I picked up. It has a nice mix of flavors that are all traditional for the style. Would drink again.

This beer was an okay beer. It has an hazy and golden yellow color to it. The aroma was a good smell, at least I liked it. The taste was pretty good as well. I liked the green apple taste that it has. I could smell some vanilla in the aroma as well. I
