Wittekerke Wit is easy to recognize by the elegant glass it is served in, its sunny colour and creamy foam head. The taste is nicely rounded with a well-defined herbal bitterness. The late famous beer expert Michael Jackson described Wittekerke Wit as creamy, aromatic, with a clean, teasing, perfumed fruitiness and a faintly herbal tartness.

Keeping it simple. I think the 82 is overly critical.
This is my favorite white beer in the world. If you like light, crisp Belgian beer, everything else pales in comparison. This is the beer that introduced me to Belgian beer. Every single once since comes up short.

#1772 - Blind-tasted except for the beer's name and brewery/country, zero reviews below read (yet!)...
L- Pale straw, poured quite hazy despite being well rested. Good looking 3Cm near white foam head. ps @+5mins, holds up well.
S- A very light 'wheat/Wit-complex' smell.
T- [1st sip of beer tonight...] quite dry on the front, dry/bright. Again within the Wit-complex taste, tho notably light.
F- On the dryer side. One thing certainly striking is it has really good carbonation in the mouth; I noticed that from the 1st sip.
O- 1st beer of the night on a fresh and clean palate and I get very little in the way of taste from this, even for a 5% Wit which you might generally expect to be a subtle brew. No reason found to buy this one again, shame.
Review/scoring all done, now the reveal, I get to read the bottle lables to see what I missed! ==> 'Brewed with wheat and barley, flavoured with spices'. Ingredients include: barley malt, wheat, fructose [!?], hops, herbs, aroma [??]....
250ml bottle BB: 05/08/2021 Bought from BeersOfEurope/King's Lynn as part of a large pick-your own consignment to London.

Look: Extremely pale yellow, similar to a white wine. Cloudy, but not opaque. Slightly more than one finger of sudsy white head with decent retention.
Smell: Lemon, orange, a bit of malt. Generally sweet, like a soft drink.
Taste: Extremely mild. A little wheat malt, the barest whiff of citrus, and then it's done.
Mouthfeel: Average body, with decently high carbonation.
Overall: So drinkable it's actually kind of boring.

11.2oz can purchased at Total Wine in Spokane Valley, Washington. Stamp on the bottom of the can indicates a "best by" date of May 4, 2020.
Poured into a shaker pint glass, this was a cloudy and lemony shade of gold. Small, off-white head that dropped quickly. Not super promising looking.
Nose was kinda what I expected for the style, but there's also a sweet aroma that sure seems like corn.
Taste was a little more interesting than the nose, but this is a pretty by-the-numbers witbier. A little more sweet, and a little less bracing than any version of the style I would recommend. It's like a cross between a witbier and a Euro mass market lager.
Light bodied, but with a fairly dull mouthfeel for the style.
Pretty meh as witbiers go. Body too dull and lifeless, not enough of that sharp, herbal, grassy character the best of the style have.

Top notch label in bottle or can. Predominantly a smooth drink. Small cans, but it’s slight bitterness doesn’t overwhelm the hops.
Con: Can be difficult to find in the US.

330ml can. Best by date stamped on can bottom is '10/05/19. Can slogan of "Sunshine in a can".
Cloudy, straw colored body. One finger of white head upon pouring, settles back to interrupted cap and ring. Leaves behind a string pattern of lacing.
Aroma of bready doughy malt, with coriander and hint of citrus.
Taste of wheat with a slight tang, bread, the spice of coriander, and a touch of citrus.
Medium mouth feel. Slight tingle on the tongue. Very good carbonation.
Agreeable and easy drinking wheat ale. Certainly could be a session choice.

I agree this was a fairly good Witbier, but it's not on par with Hoegaarden or the St. Bernardus Witbiers. Cheers! B-
