11.2 oz bottle into a nonic pint glass.

A: Pours a dark chestnut color. The head is a nice-looking three finger light cream color featuring a great texture - and downright fantastic retention for the style. Good lacing is left down the glass. One of the most attractive looking sour ales I've ever encountered.

S: Not very tart or sour compared to others in the style, though a minor presence of lactic sourness and tart apple exist. A combination of caramel malts and diacetyl are at the forefront instead. I could live without the latter quite easily.

T: This one has three stages: the initial flavor is slightly tart, the midtaste is a bit chocolaty, and the finish is sadly high in diacetyl. No big deal, I don't really mind the diacetyl presence so much here. Really, the subdued sour profile allows its malt base to shine through; it gives off notes of almonds, caramel, brown sugar, and the aforementioned chocolate. It could have used more fruity esters, though.

M: I actually really like the mouthfeel of this one - it's soft at first, yet crisp and dry to finish. The tannins are a subtle compliment to the creamy texture, aided by firm carbonation.

O: Decent, but if you're looking for something mouth puckering, this ain't it. Rather, it's balanced and easy to drink, if unexciting. A good one to introduce sour newbies to.

12 oz bottle into tulip

A- Dark, dark brown. Thin tan head. No lacing
S- Slight sour - funk. Gets a little salivation
T- Mehh. A very slight sweetness on the begining, but not much flavor. Tiny bit of tart/sourness on the end
M- Smooth, but nothing intersting

O- This may be a good sour for those just dipping into sours, but I expect a lot more from my sours. Good thing I didn't pay a lot for this in the "sour power" box.

Small bottle into Duvel tulip glass.

Murky medium brown. Small-medium head.

Smell has "Flandersy" notes; sour but with a touch of brown sugar; spoiled fruit.

Taste also has some honey in the finish; also, some cherry notes.

Not as acidic as I remembered/expected, but certainly refreshing and pretty light.

A delicious, classic beer.
